  1. Priced way way to high. Better off buying a Tesla Model Y. You get the tax break and its way cheaper. Its also RWD which is way better than FWD for EV’s.

    1. You are wrong. Equinox is cheaper on most models and you get 12000$ rebate for either models. Equinox also gets better range, etc.

      1. How do you get a 12K rebate. Max Fed is $7500. Also the base FWD model is $41k($40,999 ). Base Tesla Model Y is 43K. As far as better range, its not been tested. How far does it go at 70mph ? Needs testing.

        1. Yes it has been tested, for 313 miles / charge. I live in Canada , Quebec to be exact. So I compared prices, here , for the Y and Equinox. Better deal with Gm. If it is just as reliable as a Chevy Bolt , after the LG batteries were changed out, I prefer GM quality than Tesla s. I do prefer the looks , inside and out , of the Equinox , also.

          1. This is Canadian pricing I believe. Federal rebate is C$5K.

          2. I owned a bolt and after that complete disaster of having to park it on the street for fear of fire, I am not sure GM, which still used LG batteries, is the best bet when it comes to EV’s. Maybe they are, but they have little proof of it. The Bolt charges so slowly its not a road trip car plus it uses CCS, which in the US has awful quality. I love the look of the Equinox and I will even bet it has a better suspension but the EV guts of the Equinox is very questionable. Time will tell. By the way the new Model 3 suspension is finally right.

            1. Hi Bob;

As you know. With GM you take the bad with the good. The Ultium 102.5 kwh battery in my Lyriq charges at about a 20% higher rate than the 65 kwh bolt, but seeing as its battery is 57% larger means that the Lyriq ultium charges much more slowly than the SLOW bolt, given its size. It also is reasonable to assume that the 80 something kwh battery in most Blazer EVs and Equinox EVs will charge about 4/5ths as fast as the, to some, painfully slow Lyriq.

But on the good side. It’s a big comfortable car similar in quality to the cars GM made decades ago. That’s good enough for me.

              1. I thought there was a software fix for the charging problem that will fox that. Doesn’t anyone at GM have a clue about what it takes to make a decent EV?

                1. On the plus side, at least Ultium batteries at their current charging rate should last a long time.

After all, they are never really fast charged, since it is so slow.

Yes you can under certain circumstances get 186 kw for a few minutes.. then it will quickly taper down.

                2. They do, but the problem with legacy anything is that accountants dictate to engineers. VW had the same problem with their cars over the years.

                  Reply
                  1. So the accountants have their new companies they can get jobs at when the competition destroys the company they are at? Is this what they teach at university? Make short term profit and set the company up for complete bankruptcy? What rubes. GM is no longer made in Detroit its made in China or Mexico. UAW is going to have a hard time collecting payments from out of work members. Make sure to thank the accountants for creating mediocrity when GM is struggling to survive.

        2. The 12 000$ rebate is 5000$ from the Canadian government and 7000$ from the provincial government( at least in Quebec).
And in Quebec at least, a base Model Y is 55000$.

          1. $0 rebate in Ontario only federal of $5K.

  3. When I bought a hold over New 2023 bolt ev 1LT (stripped other than heavy duty floor Matt’s and 110/220 8/12/32 amp cord in lieu of the 110 volt 8/12 amp cord), for USD$ 3,450 in Buffalo, NY most here didn’t believe the pricing. All 3 are defacto point of sale meaning I got them before 8 3/4% sales tax was added.
    $7500Fed rebate
$2000 NY state posale rebate; the only GM product that got this much was the bolt. Lyriq only got $500.
$4,350 PHEV used car future rebate. I in effect got this also since the dealer offered me $16,279 on my VOLT trade when car fax said it was worth at best $13,900.

Dealer could obviously offer me $4350 more since that amount will come off the presumably inflated resale used price.

  4. Does the 1LT trim have the same size batter and range as the 2LT trim? If so, what are people getting for almost $10k more to get the 2LT trim?

    1. You need to look it up on the GM site. There is a big difference. Worth the comforts it gives you.

  5. I looked on the GM Canada website and there’s no information on the 1LT. The US website says 1LT has the same range. We’ll see if that’s the case in Canada.

The only thing that seems to be the material difference is the loss of heated front seats and steering wheel heat. For me $10k is not worth it for just heated seats+wheel.

    1. I will try to paste it here. Canadian dealers don’t order 1LTs anymore.

    2. GM AUthority has a C8 listing of the differences between the 3. I just verified and not even halfway through I found 6.
