Legend Motor Co. Launches LT4-Powered Land Rover Defender Replica

Thanks in large part to its small form factor and “relative” simplicity, General Motors’ Generation V Small Block gasoline engine is a popular choice among enthusiasts and builders for swapping into their vehicles, with certain powerplants – like GM’s supercharged LT4 – standing as a go-to option. Now, Legend Motor Company has launched an LT4-powered Land rover Defender Replica.

Founded in early 2023, Legend Motor Co. is in the business of developing and producing bespoke off-road-focused luxury SUVs from the ground-up in Salt Lake City, Utah. To this end, the Land Rover replicas sit atop a Jeep JK frame, feature Fox suspension on all four corners, boast aluminum kevlar lining, and are available with the choice of either the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT1 gasoline engine, or the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine. Transmission options consist of the GM eight-speed automatic transmission.

It’s worth noting that the LT4 develops 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque in this Land Rover Defender replica. Meanwhile, the LT1 develops 455 horsepower and 465 pound-feet.

Under the skin, an Atlas twin-stick transfer case distributes the power to the 4WD drivetrain, while sturdy Dana 60 axles ensure durability and capability in any endeavor owners may undertake. Meanwhile, a full-sized 37-inch tire is mounted out back for the ultimate in piece of mind.

In regard to exterior and interior amenities, every item is of premium quality and built by hand, while modern heat and air conditioning from Restomod Air helps to ensure passenger comfort. As far as pricing is concern, the premier level Signature Series will go for roughly $250,000, depending on how the buyers spec their build.

“It’s every car builder’s dream to build a vehicle from the ground up,” Legend Motor Co. Founder Nick Panos was quoted as stating. “We’ve done that here with the first Signature Series – no expense was spared. We’ve built a truck that is uncompromisingly the vision of Legend Motor Co.”
