What We Expect From Cadillac In 2024

The 2023 calendar year was filled with important updates for the Cadillac brand, and now, as we look ahead to 2024, the luxury marque isn’t about to slow down. With that in mind, we’re rounding up all the important Caddy models set to launch and drop cover next year, including both ICE-powered vehicles and EVs. Read on for a brief rundown of what we expect from Cadillac in 2024.

A prototype example of the Cadillac Lyriq-V.

Lyriq-V prototype

Kicking things off early in 2024 is a pair of high-performance reveals, including the new all-electric Lyriq-V. Based on the 2024 Lyriq Sport, the new Lyriq-V will feature all-wheel drive and more output than the 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque on offer by the current Lyriq AWD, as well as a more aggressive body treatment and plenty of dark accents. Check out our exclusive details for more.

Early 2024 will also provide us with the debut of the refreshed 2025 CT5-V and refreshed 2025 CT5-V Blackwing, with highlights like a new look, a huge infotainment screen in the cabin, and a few extra tech goodies to boot.

Refreshed 2025 CT5 Premium Luxury

Moving into the Spring, the refreshed 2025 CT5 (non-V variants) will officially launch following a debut earlier this year at the 2023 Detroit Auto Show. The Spring 2024 timeframe will also debut the new 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQL, set to drop as the extended-length variant of the all-electric Escalade IQ, making the IQL essentially the battery-driven equivalent of the ICE-powered Escalade ESV. We even rendered the upcoming Escalade IQL, so check that out.

In the Fall, the 2025 Cadillac Optiq is expected finally launch. First dropping cover this past November, the Optiq serves as the luxury marque’s new entry-level, all-electric crossover.

Escalade IQ

Finally, towards the end of the 2024 calendar year, the all-electric 2025 Escalade IQ (standard-length variant) is expected to launch. Debuting this past August, the Escalade IQ sits at the top of Caddy’s all-electric utility vehicle lineup, offering a maximum of 750 horsepower and upwards of 450 miles of range.

Additionally, the ICE-powered, refreshed 2025 Cadillac Escalade is expected to hit production in November of the 2024 calendar year, offering up new styling, a pillar-to-pillar / coast-to-coast full-width digital display, and a new diesel engine option. Check out everything we know and expect from the refreshed ICE-powered 2025 Escalade for more information.

  1. We need a refreshed XT6 and the new XT5 from China!

    1. Yes, refresh the XT6 with rear wheel drive and I’ll buy one.

Those need to be put out to pasture and simply replaced by the much better Lyriq and Vistiq as soon as possible.
The XT5 and especially the XT6 were Duds from the minute GM presented them.
They cannot be replaced fast enough.

The updated CT6 does look nice but no thanks on a 100K Sedan with a 2.0 Turbo
And No thank you again if it comes with the Chevy 3.6 V6 as well

If sold in the US then it needs to offer the 3.0TT Standard but we all know GM won’t do that.

  5. I’ve had 4 Caddy’s now. But it seems this brand is no longer for me. I don’t want EV. Maybe a plugin hybrid, but definitely not EV. I was hopeful they would bring the EXT with a V8.. but it seems ICE is dead to them.

    1. You can still get ICE engines in the CT4 and CT5, both great cars. I have a CT5-V and it is the best sport sedan I have ever owned. Car & Driver also just listed the CT4-V and CT-5V as top ten cars for 2024.

      1. Agree completely. I have a 2020 CT5-V AWD and it’s great.

  6. Just give us finally the UltraCruise. It is already late, but better late than never. I am already thinking of ditching Cadillac and getting a Tesla.

  7. Can we release the details and pics of the 2025 CT5-V already!

    1. Depending on pricing, the Optic could sell okay.

The Escalade IQ seems way overpriced for what you get, as is the strange Celestiq, but those are already known to be only made in small numbers.

The Vistaliq or whatever that XT6 replacement is called will also be price dependent. If they try overpricing it the new car lots of Caddy dealers won’t be big enough.

But then, I can’t see who would buy Blazer EVs at current pricing.

      Reply
      1. With the 7500 tax credit the Blazer EV RS is the same Price as the fully optioned ICE Blazer RS.

        Reply
        1. Not necessarily. A Tax Credit doesn’t really put money (7,500) back in your pocket. Depends on how you file taxes. If it was an instant rebate, then sure.. but it’s not.

          Reply
          1. It’s a tax credit, not a deduction, so of course you get the money back, maybe just not immediately. In 2024 dealers can apply the tax credit immediately as a credit. Even if you don’t have $7500 in tax liability to offset, you can carry over unused tax credits to the next tax year. I really can’t imagine anyone who can afford a new electric car doesn’t have $7500 in federal tax liability.

            Reply
            1. I was under the impression you got $7,500 off at sale time in 2024 if your AGI is under $75,000, no?

              Reply
    2. The XT6 is a fine FWD/AWD crossover, that just needs the same refresh as the XT4 with perhaps the new 2.5 liter Turbo. This means a new refreshed front end (exterior) and a new cockpit. With these updates wlit will be as good or better than most other crossovers! Going all won’t happen until 2030 folks! We should also bring over the new Chinese XT5 as well

  10. Need to get the refreshed Ct5 out. Since the Camaro is gone start making the CT-6 at the Grand River plant. But make it with the 3.0 TT and 4.2TT no 2.slow. XT5/6 need a refresh. 2.0 needs to be dropped across the lineup. It is crude and gutless. All these EV’s need to be delayed or cancelled. Lyrics are piling up at the dealer lots. There is a 151 day of supply of them

  11. Everyone wants updated this or that – realize GM market is China not North America. new models and updates there. Most likely, based on my Lyriq, quality in China must be better. Lyriq fit/finish poor. lots of continual error codes, no capable service from dealers yet, at least in LA area. China market much bigger, and more competitive, so GM must be putting the effort there.

    Reply
    1. GM (including Buick) is losing market share in China and fast. Much of it due to changes in buyers taste and increased nationalism. Though its not just GM (the Euro brands are also reporting losing market share to local Chinese brands but GM with their “all my eggs in one basket” tactic stands to lose the most). And its only going to get worse as US-China tensions goes south and god forbid Taiwan gets invaded and the CCP decide to nationalize foreign assets. So GM better start considering diversifying their markets or they can go ask Xi and the people of China to bail them out.

  13. Earlier this week I leased a 2024 XT6 Prem Lux with the Platinum package, my 20th new Cadillac. While at the Dealership I test drove a Cadillac Lyriq and was extremely impressed. I admit that I was very tempted to take one home, but the reality is that a 310-mile range isn’t long enough. If Cadillac can increase the range to 500 miles in the next 3 years It very well may be my next car.

  14. But why still no word on a refreshed CT4? Built in same plant as the CT5 (and late Camaro). I don’t understand why they couldn’t give it a similar face-lift and interior screens that are going in all the other caddys. Doesn’t seem like that would be much additional costs to do so and possibly cheaper in the long run by leveraging scale of the new curved screens.

    1. @JT
Agreed. The XT4 got an update so why not the CT4

  15. Come on Mary – start listening to the market and forget your personal desire to go all electric. Hybrids and ICE are the only profitable way to go. Half your Buick dealers are giving up their franchise because they don’t want to go all electric. Think about it. You need a new, upgraded, XT5 for 2025 in the USA or you may as well forget about the domestic market. You have new ICE products in China but not the USA. Maybe you don’t care about this market or maybe you are hanging around with the wrong people. I really don’t know. You pushed for an all electric product line even though your management team disagreed with you. They are still right and you are still wrong. My wife and I have been a Cadillac buyer for many years but you are in the process of pushing us out the door and forcing me to buy a Lexus. Please give this some thought. Thank You

    1. The only Buick Dealers that took the buyout were only responsible for 20% of the sold units.
GM is happy to see them go as they were just bloat.

Every year EVs get better, range increases, charging times decrease, and more affordable models come.

I look forward to the total end of ICE vehicles aside from special editions.

    1. I have a ’21 and love it. It hasn’t been to the Servive Department for anything other than oil chages.

    2. I don’t own one, but have also been considering it. Seems the largest gripe against them is the 2.0 motor, cramped backseat, and not as luxury as rivals. The premium luxury with the 2.7 is the most recommended trim level (or CT4V if budget allows). I’m unclear from reviews though if this engine is unrefined like the 2.0 or not. I plan to test drive one in a few months to hear and feel the engine for myself.

Back seat room is sort of par for the course in this segment. This is considered a “tweener”, meaning it is slightly bigger than a subcompact, but not as large as a compact. It tends to be compared to an Audi A3 and BMW 2 series.

No matter. This is an existential threat to the Russian people and they will not allow it,.
It’s the US and European economies that are imploding, and the war will be over in another few months anyway.

          1. You are either have never been to Ukraine, or you are a pro-Russian troll. Helping Putin economically is akin to helping a Hitler wannabe. Putin has stated that he wants to wipe out every Westerner. His soldiers raped a large number of Ukrainians (my friend is a volunteer who helps these involuntarily pregnant women as well as helping civilians injured my missile blast and drone strikes. Putin strikes focus heavily on hospital, schools, and civilian apartment complexes. All of this is well documented. The only existential threat is Russia invading other nations, including Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova. Putin has also repeatedly stated that he wants to take Alaska. If the war is over in a few months, it likely will be because Putin has run out of soldiers (Russia recently admitted that that 200,000 of their soldiers have been killed, with another 100,000 seriously wounded, a much higher death rate than Ukraine. American generals openly admit they are shocked by the poor performance of the Red Army.

            1. You are apparently stuck in 1989. Russia ain’t Red any longer. This isn’t the forum to address this, but since about 1,000,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died, they are running out of combatants.
Let’s wait and see what transpires over the next half year.

    Reply
    1. The supposed ending of gasoline consumption will never happen.
I drive 2 bevs and a volt, but totally ending ICE vehicles is a beyond dopey concept mainly because when Crude Oil is cracked, you get roughly half gasoline. Before Henry Ford and his model T, they used to bury , or burn in a waterway the unwanted gasoline.

Gas cars are pretty good at what they do. And only get better, at least when manufacturers are trying to make good engines. They are a great way to cleanly get rid of the unwanted gasoline.

    2. Porsche built and operates a synthetic (also known as “carbon capture”) fuel plant in Chile. Several other car companies have allocated several billion dollars overall dedicated to researching synthetic fuels and also hydrogen. Some in the auto industry believe that EVs are a “bridge” to a synthetic fuel future, though I suspect that, at some point, EVs and synthetic fuel vehicles will exist simultaneously, at least for a period of time. One factor spurring the synthetic fuel research is the significant environmental consequences of mining and refining lithium. Recycling lithium cost-effectively remains a significant issue, too. moreover, some of the world’s lithium is located in hostile or semi-hostile nations such as China and especially Afghanistan.

    1. Nobody is buying the EV’s. It’s a failure. The effort to develop them should have been put into ICE’s.

The half-baked XT4 has to stay around now. Or dealers will have even fewer vehicles to sell.

      Reply
  24. Somehow there is no replacement for the XT5 or XT6.

If a new, desirable one doesn’t debut within a year Mary Barra should be fired. She pissed away nearly $20 billion on EV’s that nobody wants. Most Buick and Cadillac dealers will be dead in 5 years because of it.

  25. mary has outlived her ability to run GM. She is worse at running the company than Roger Smith. Remember when Roger tried to save money, by making what was eventually the same vehicle in every division by just changing the branding. His plan did not work very well and neither is Mary’s all electric plan. please retire Mary.
