As of this writing, there isn’t any official, confirmed information about the Cadillac Optiq.
However, the compact crossover will join the Cadillac Lyriq midsize crossover and Cadillac Symboliq full-size crossover in the future Cadillac EV product portfolio. The Cadillac Celestiq full-size flagship sedan is also part of GM’s plans for Cadillac EVs.
Like all future Cadillac EVs, the Optiq is expected to be based on the GM BEV3 platform.
Performance & Efficiency
The Cadillac Optiq will be powered by GM Ultium propulsion technology, including Ultium batteries and Ultium drive motors. The vehicle is expected to come with rear-wheel-drive as standard, which will be upgradeable to a performance all-wheel-drive setup, with a second drive unit added to the front of the crossover.
Ultium highlights include:
- Ultium energy options range from 50 to 200 kWh
- GM-estimated range up to 400 miles or more on a full charge
- GM-estimated 0 to 60 mph acceleration as low as 3 seconds
Most of the Ultium Drive components, including castings, gears and assemblies, will be built with globally sourced parts at GM’s existing global propulsion facilities on shared, flexible assembly lines, allowing the company to more quickly ramp up its EV production, achieve economies of scale and adjust its production mix to match market demand.
The Cadillac Optiq is expected to make its official debut in late 2022 or early 2023, and go on sale for either the 2023 model year or the 2024 model year.
When the compact crossover does arrive, it’s expected to have a starting price of around $45,000 USD.
