2023 Buick Envision Heated Steering Wheel Constraint Resolved

The 2023 Buick Envision debuts the third model year for the current second-gen crossover, ushering in a few changes and updates compared to the previous 2022 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that a constraint on the 2023 Buick Envision’s heated steering wheel feature has been resolved.

For those readers who may be unaware, the heated steering wheel feature for the 2023 Buick Envision has been under constraint since the start of regular production (SORP) in August. Affected units can be identified by RPO code 00G on the vehicle window sticker.

The 2023 Buick Envision was originally set to begin production April 4th, but that date was subsequently delayed to August 1st. The Buick Envision is exclusively produced at the GM Jinqiao plant in Beijing, China, which has faced multiple production delays this year as a result of the global microchip shortage.

Now, according to sources familiar with the matter, the constraint on the heated steering wheel feature for the 2023 Buick Envision has been resolved. The heated steering wheel feature is tagged with RPO code UVD, and is normally included and only available via the Comfort and Convenience Package (RPO code PS1) for the base-model 2023 Buick Envision Preferred FWD, while Preferred AWD, Essence, and Avenir trim levels include a heated steering wheel as standard.

As a reminder, the 2023 Buick Envision features the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine as the exclusive powerplant option. Peak output is rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Under the body panels, the Envision rides on the GM E2 platform.

The heated steering wheel feature isn’t the only constraint the 2023 Buick Envision has faced so far. GM has also placed a constraint on the Side Blind Zone Alert system and second key fob, per previous GM Authority coverage.

Looking ahead, GM will reveal the refreshed Buick Envision for the 2024 model year.

    1. I tried contacting GM and all they gave me was a bunch of non-answers and the run around. They can’t even give me an idea of when they will fix the problem.
