Strategic Vision, an international consulting and advisory service company, recently announced the winners of the latest 2022 Total Quality Awards. The GMC Acadia took top honors in the Mid-Size CUV category.
The Total Quality Awards are based on the results of Strategic Vision’s annual Total Quality Impact Report, with the 2022 awards based off the most recent 28th edition of the report. In the report, Strategic Vision details customer evaluations for new vehicles, with the responses from 112,078 new vehicle buyers collected after 90 days of ownership.
The vehicles analyzed cover a variety of different segments, while the study looks at both tangible and intangible aspects of the vehicle. The factors include things like how easy the infotainment is to use, how comfortable the seats are, how effective the sideview mirrors are, how the vehicle feels while cornering, and how strongly the customer feels about their new vehicle and the likelihood they will advocate for the vehicle brand in question.
Using these survey responses, Strategic Vision calculates what it calls the Total Quality Impact score. This score is then used to identify the top-rated vehicles in each segment. At the head of the Mid-Size CUV segment is the GMC Acadia, which was given a score of 588 points.
A few other GM vehicles recognized with a 2022 Total Quality Award include the Chevy Tahoe, which scored 661 points to take the win in the Full-Size Utility segment, and the GMC Sierra HD (2500HD and 3500HD), which scored 585 points to take the win in the Heavy Duty Pickup segment.
For the sake of reference, the highest-scoring 2022 Total Quality Award winner was the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, which took the win in the Luxury CUV category with 692 points. The Kia Carnival was the lowest-scoring award winner with 521 points, taking the win in the Minivan category.

Thought these were known to have a lot of issues?
The survey only looks at the first 90 days of ownership. They should do a follow-up survey of the same GMC Acadia respondents three years later and see (1) how many still own it, and (2) if so, how would the responses change after those three years.
My wife purchased a new 2020 Acadia- V6 all wheel drive- 9 speed trans. She has 37000 miles on it now . NO problems at all. I like the vehicle as well. Great power, gas mileage , and just the right amount of room .
Styling looks good too. Oh, did I mention its made in the USA.
Not to mention the “Strategic Vision” push button gear shifter.
Daughter owns a 19 and has had 1 issue, replaced a battery for not starting and crazy dash readings. Once replaced, no issues.
Replaced the “street” Michelins 20″ tires at 40k miles. Replaced with Firestones and turns out better ride. So far better tread life.
