2023 Corvette Loses Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow Interior Color

The 2023 Corvette Stingray will not be offered with the Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow interior color combination, GM Authority has learned.

The Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow is an interior option for the 2022 Corvette Stingray that adds contrasting yellow, white and black upholstery, along with yellow stitching, to the mid-engine sports car’s interior. Available on the range-topping 3LT trim level only, this is a no-cost trim option, however it requires the customer to also select the Sueded Microfiber Steering wheel option, which costs $595.

Chevy has decided to drop the Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow interior color combination for the updated 2023 Corvette Stingray. It’s not clear if it will be replaced by another interior upholstery option, or if it will simply be dropped without a direct or indirect replacement. This change applies to the Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow interior with the standard GT2 bucket seats with Napa leather seating surfaces and perforated inserts (RPO code HT7), as well as with the Competition bucket seats with Napa leather seating surfaces and perforated inserts (RPO code HFC) on the Stingray model only.

As many readers will know, the 2023 model year will also see the introduction of the 2023 Corvette Z06 model variant. It’s not clear if the 2023 Corvette Z06 will offer the Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow interior color combination, although it seems unlikely, seeing as it has been dropped from the 2023 Corvette Stingray order books.

Production of the 2023 Corvette, including the standard Stingray and the high-performance Z06, is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 9th, 2022. Production will once again take place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky, which has been the exclusive assembly facility of the Chevy Corvette since production moved there from St. Louis in 1981. It’s currently unclear if this May 9th production start date will include the 2023 Corvette Z06, or if General Motors will begin with production of the 2023 Corvette Stingray instead.

  2. I have seen the colors and they look nice, but only years down the road will know how these colors hold up in popularity. One thing about the C8 was the number of color combinations was amazing, so many choices.
