GM Authority has found some of the first real-world images of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing in the unique new Dark Emerald Frost matte exterior paint color.
This color was introduced on the Cadillac CT5 for the 2022 model year and is only available on the ultra-performance CT5-V Blackwing model variant. It was previously referred to as Dark Emerald Matte before General Motors renamed it Dark Emerald Frost. This is a rare and pricey color for the luxury sedan, adding $3,925 to the vehicle’s price tag. It’s also currently unavailable to order, bringing a bit more provenance to this particular model.
These images show the Dark Emerald Frost color applied to a 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. As we can tell from the above front-three-quarters shot, the car is also equipped with the standard 19-inch alloy wheels with Polish/Dark Android accents, rather than the available Satin Graphite or Tech Bronze alloy wheels. Other visible options from this angle include red-painted brake calipers and both the Carbon Fiber 1 and Carbon Fiber 2 aerodynamics packages.
From the side, we can see this car has had dark aftermarket window tint applied to it. The tint was likely installed by the selling dealership, which is listed as Truck City Inc. in Des Moines, Iowa on Autotrader.com. The rear-three-quarters angle reveals the CT5-V Blackwing’s standard smoked taillight lenses and more of the aforementioned Carbon Fiber 1 and Carbon Fiber 2 aerodynamics packages, including the rear extra aero spoiler.
Inside, we can see this particular car features the optional high-performance front bucket seats and Jet Black full semi-aniline leather upholstery with red contrasting accents and red seatbelts. These red accents match the red brake calipers and ensure the vehicle looks just as stylish from the inside as it does from the outside. Finally, this car is equipped with the standard six-speed manual transmission rather than the GM 10-speed automatic. Like all other CT5-V Blackwing models, power comes from a supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine producing 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, which sends power to the rear wheels.

Very nice stealth color
Interesting, I live in Des Moines and this car was briefly listed on the local Cadillac dealers website a week or two back. Seems to be an order that someone likely decided to flip? I think if I could afford to order it I might have kept it.
I would fear that it was damaged in transit (or something else that kept it from being able to be sold as a new car by the Cadillac dealer) and that’s how it ended up at Truck City. Otherwise, it seems to be the one to have for future values.
I like it. Real life photo of a Fitz and Van watercolor Pontiac advertisement.
Man…….how in the world does a schlock dealer like “Truck City” in Iowa get a gem like THAT!
I think it looks really good in this hue, especially with the gold wheels that they offer as an option.
What kinda Honda is that? As for the color…..can’t put lip stock on a pig…..
Well said @WallyGator.
Your wife certainly does though….. I don’t get it.
Why do they call it Dark Emerald Frost? Looks more like a light or medium shade to me. It’s a nice color but it’s not what I’d call dark.
That color is DOPE….and no slushbox…..nice.
That is a sick color
