The GMC Hummer EV upends what an off-roader should be by reintroducing the Hummer nameplate as GM’s latest trail-ready all-electric vehicle. Now, GM Authority is bringing you real-world photos of the range-topping GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 straight from the floor of the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Like all GMC Hummer Edition 1 Pickups, this particular example is finished in Interstellar White paint, which is offset with a variety of black trim. The front end is characterized by a wide fascia treatment with broad horizontal lighting across the nose and HUMMER inner graphics, bookended by H-shaped lighting signatures. Theres also a silver lower skid plate and GMC badge in the lower righthand corner, the latter of which is finished in black. A set of black tow hooks are included as well.
Moving to the sides, we find Hummer EV badging in the doors, plus chunky off-roading tires wrapped around two-tone wheels. Between the wheels is a set of protective running boards. There’s also lower black cladding finished in black, complemented by a black finish for the roof. The fenders are quite boxy, enhancing the tough attitude.
Standard spec for the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 includes Transparent Sky Panels, as well as the Extreme Off-Road Package, the latter of which includes those 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT Tires and 18-inch black aluminum wheels, plus front e-lockers with virtual rear lockers, ball spline half shafts, skid plates, and the rocker protectors.
The rear features black surrounds for the taillights and a silver finish for the Hummer EV badging, plus a black lower bumper and black tow hooks. We also spot a tonneau cover stretched across the bed.
Further powertrain specs include standard Watts to Freedom mode for a sprint to 60 mph in 3 seconds, as well as 800-volt DC Fast Charge capability for up 100 miles of range in 10 minutes. Estimated towing capacity is set at 7,500 pounds, while payload is 1,300 pounds. Range-per-charge is 329 miles.
Unfortunately, all GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 Pickup reservations are full.
As a reminder, the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 is the range-topping trim level in the GMC Hummer EV pickup truck lineup, and is equipped with a three-motor powertrain doling out 1,000 horsepower. The GMC Hummer EV is also offered with a two-motor setup, as well as an SUV body style.
Under the skin, the off-roader rides on the all-electric GM BT1 platform, with motivation derived from GM’s Ultium Battery and Ultium Drive technologies. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant, formerly known as GM Detroit-Hamtramck.

Better late than never, eh?
Late?
Unlike Rivian who delivered to their employees last month, the Hummer EV goes in public hands this month.
Late? By what, a few weeks? This is GM that will be able to make hundreds of thousands of units, not a handful (see rivian’s lame attempt).
Liar first editions have gone out stop being a hater norm.
Old pics, nothing new here
These pix are from SEMA, so not old.
Why are you even here?
To hear you complain about others
Sprint to 60 mpg in 3 seconds? Sounds about right
Thanks, post updated
Hmmm… Car factories cannot build anything if the automotive suppliers are not production ready. I don’t think they all are… Plus transmission plants in Mexico in the times of COVID with a terrible supply chain situation… You’ll be lucky if you get yours by Christmas 2022
It has no transmission.
Electric motor. Being processed in the transmission plant in northern Mexico. With all the restrictions from the Mexican government around the sanitary contingency things will not flow seamlessly.
,,, yeah, mexico… we understand,,,, we try to be tolerant, like film elysium
Uhm, the Hummer EV doesn’t have a transmission so I don’t think that’s going to be an issue.
Great for those off-road trips to Somerset Mall.
Love it I can smell the cheap plastic through the screen.
now understood, the Chevy beast,,, for me is still this name … is same as this Hummer, or same close direction, both ugly, army
Please park 100′ feet from any building while charging as the new batteries are unproven.
It looks like a Ford EXP is hanging underneath the front of it. Did it run over one?
