2022 GMC Terrain Gets New Hunter Metallic Color: First Look

The 2022 GMC Terrain receives four new exterior colors: Cayenne Red Tintcoat, Desert Sand Metallic, Marine Metallic, and Hunter Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Hunter Metallic hue.

2022 GMC Terrain Denali Hunter Metallic

Assigned color code GED and touch-up paint code WA-244F, Hunter Metallic is one of two silver-gray hues, with the other being Quicksilver Metallic. It’s also one of five metallic color options available for the 2022 Terrain.

In total, there are eight available colors for the 2022 GMC Terrain, including:

  • White Frost Tricoat
  • Quicksilver Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Ebony Twilight Metallic
  • Hunter Metallic
  • Marine Metallic
  • Cayenne Red Tintcoat
  • Desert Sand Metallic

The Hunter Metallic color is not included in the price of the 2022 GMC Terrain, as it costs an additional $495. In fact, Summit White is the only exterior paint color included in the base price of the 2022 GMC Terrain.

The new Hunter Metallic color is exclusive to Terrain Denali models. Additionally, the new color is available with the Jet Black as well as the Light Platinum with Dark Galvanized interior color combinations, but not the Medium Ash Gray with Jet Black colorway.

2022 GMC Acadia Trim Levels:

  • SLE (3SA)
  • SLT (4SA)
  • AT4 (4SB)
  • Denali (5SA)

2022 GMC Acadia Interior Color Combinations:

  • Jet Black
  • Medium Ash Gray with Jet Black
  • Light Platinum with Dark Galvanized

Due to the ongoing microchip shortage, production of the GMC Terrain – as well as the Chevy Equinox – has been delayed yet again with a restart date set for October 4th. Before that, the GM San Luis Potosi plant – which produces the Terrain and Equinox – was idled until the end of August. Additionally, GMC staggered the production start of 2022 Terrain models, building SLE and SLT trims before AT4 and Denali units. As such, we recommend checking with a dealer for complete availability details.

Prospective buyers may be interested to know that the 2022 GMC Terrain received a refresh, which was originally scheduled for the 2021 model year, but delayed due to complications caused by the Coronavirus. Changes include new front and rear end fascias, small revisions to the interior and materials, the deletion of the base SL trim level, new wheel options, new a defeat switch for the engine auto stop-start feature, the addition of standard all-wheel-drive on the Denali trim, plus a new head-up display option.

  1. That’s quite purdy. Funny but the GMC site only shows six exterior colors and this ain’t one of them. EDIT: Only available on Denali. You guys here are misleading.

  3. It has to be the right shade of green for me to like green,I have never noticed one since this one came out but a friend saw his first one recently on a hunting trip at a dealer in the northwoods of WI.and said it is a winner,a shame dealers do not order more in that color.

    1. It’s not like its “harder” to get green, or more difficult to apply to the car rather then white or black.

Anywho, most dealer will subtract it from msrp

  6. Hunter metallic might look good on a Porsche 911 or jaguar but on a terrain not quite sure if it would work but now days anything goes I guess .

  7. Looks like GMC is offering green across some of its lineup, to include Forest Metallic on the ’22 Sierra. Really missed the green since the 90s and glad to see it’s coming back.
