The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro is arriving this month in South America, where it adopts the minor front-end styling update that the SS version received in the U.S. market last year, as well as a next-generation connectivity package. General Motors announced that the updated muscle car will hit the Brazilian market first, followed shortly by an introduction of the Camaro in more countries of the region.
As with previous model years of the sixth-generation car, the 2021 Chevrolet Camaro will continue to be exclusively offered in South American countries with the SS trim level, available for both Coupe and Convertible body styles. The muscle car is currently sold in this configuration in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay.
In this regard, the 2021 Chevrolet Camaro SS destined for those countries also maintains the naturally aspirated 6.2L LT1 V8 engine that generates an output of 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. The block is mated exclusively to GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro for South America now includes the front end design inherited from the Camaro SS Shock Concept unveiled at the 2018 SEMA Show. As such, Camaro SS units arriving in this region will adopt the body-color painted center bumper bar and repositioned black bow tie on the upper grille, giving it a more harmonious front image.
In addition, the 2021 Camaro SS takes a technological leap by adding the latest connectivity features. This includes Chevrolet’s on-board Wi-Fi hotspot with a signal up to 12 times more stable, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration as well as remote access via the myChevrolet app.
The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro SS will be available for sale from this month in the Brazilian market, where it is the most successful sports car with more than 6,000 units registered since 2010. It will gradually reach the other South American markets during the last quarter of the year. The 2021 Camaro offers five exterior color options: Red Hot, Egyptian Blue, Imperial Orange, Summit White and Global Black.
