Offered as an indirect replacement for the Cadillac ATS, the Cadillac CT5 first debuted for the 2020 model year, with the 2021 model year dropping in as the nameplate’s second model year in production. This latest model year brings with it a list of fresh features and updates, as well as a new Diamond Sky Special Edition Package.
According to a new report from our sister publication, Cadillac Society, the new Diamond Sky Special Edition Package will be exclusive to the Premium Luxury trim level, and will include a selection of content for the exterior and interior of the 2021 Cadillac CT5.
Unfortunately, images of the new package are currently unavailable, but we do know that the package will include the following:
Interior Features:
- Unique Diamond Fall seat perforations and Galaxy wood trim
- Sky Cool Gray interior with jet Black accents
- Alloy pedals
Exterior Features:
- Diamond Sky Metallic exterior paint color
- 19-inch alloy wheels with Diamond Cut/Midnight Silver finish
- Neutral-density tail lamps with gray-tinted transparent outer lens
- Body-color rear lower diffuser
- Body-color rocker moldings and extensions
- Brembo V Performance front brakes
- Blue brake caliper finish
Diamond Sky Metallic paint is a new addition for the 2021 Cadillac CT5, and is only available via the Diamond Sky Special Edition package. What’s more, this package is the first time that Cadillac has offered neutral-density (or clear) tail lamps on the CT5 Premium Luxury trim level, as the tail lamp finish is typically only available on Sport and V models.
The package is not offered with any other exterior color or interior color. It’s also worth noting that the 2021 Cadillac CT5 Diamond Sky Special Edition package requires the addition of the Climate Package, which includes the following content:
- Heated driver and front passenger seats
- Automatic heated steering wheel
- Ventilated driver and front passenger seats
While the new package includes 19-inch alloy wheels with a Diamond Cut/Midnight Silver finish, buyers can optionally upgrade to 20-inch rollers with a Polished finish.
The 2021 Cadillac CT5 Diamond Sky Special Edition package will be available to order early next year. Pricing info is currently unavailable.
As a reminder, the Cadillac CT5 rides on the all-new Alpha 2 vehicle platform, and is produced at the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in Lansing, Michigan. Engine options include the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY and the turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY.
We’ll follow-up on this as soon as more information becomes available, so stay tuned. In the meantime, subscribe to GM Authority for more Cadillac CT5 news, Cadillac news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

Looks like a decent package. Give me the 20 inch wheel upgrade.
More lipstick for a pig as what would change the conversation would be to do what was promised and give the Cadillac CT5 a LT4.
You mean the CT5 V Blackwing ………..that was promised.
Can’t wait to see actual pics. It sure sounds nice.
Beautiful vehicle !
Cadillac with a ” Good Enough ” Chevy interior !
WHY ? Why did GM have to be so da/\/\ cheap in this vehicle ?
This vehicle looks just like our 2004 CTS in colors .
I wish the interior was as good as the 2004 interior was for that timeframe.
I thought the ATS was replaced with the CT4 and the CT5 is the replacement for the CTS?
I have yet to see a CT5 or CT4 in the wild.
I’ve seen a few 5s and two 4s (actually driving, not sitting on a dealer lot) and they look pretty damn good
So what color is Diamond Sky?
Let me know when the interior isn’t mostly black.
I saw a white one at my local Chevy/Cadillac dealer this morning. The C pillar is fine, but the overall shape is too close to the white Malibus parked next to it. Some design shop needs to thumb its nose at aerodynamics so we can have interesting cars again.
Ralph L,
Did you sit in the two ?
The Malibu and the CT5.
They are the same vehicle in the interior, just different locations of buttons.
Same dash, same clusters, same screen, same look, same feel. And if you buy the right colors and materials, which one is a better interior ?
Just another GM cheap interior vehicle !
And this is why this Cadillac and ALL Cadillacs need better !
When this Cadillac and all Cadillacs have the same quality of interior as the new Escalade and Lyriq, then and only then will GM have a true Cadillac once again !
And that is if they don’t cheapen the Lyriq interior in the next two years before they release it !
So here again is the trouble, we are done buying GM and Cadillac, yet we really wanted to buy this sedan. And will still own a sedan, yet now GM/Cadillac has lost just one more sedan customer because of a cheap interior !
NOT BECAUSE WE NO LONGER WANT TO OWN A SEDAN !
GM just no longer wants to make a sedan we want to buy !
Just like a 2 cent spring, all this Cadillac needed was the new Escalade dash, seats, and a window in the rear instead of the cheap plastic fantastic.
If you really think that customers will confuse the CT5 interior with the Malibu, then you must be smoking something. I’ve sat in both, and there is not way that the dash, cluster, and screen are the same. In fact, the 2021 CT5 will offer an all digital cluster. Have a nice day.
Art0086,
That’s always your standard dealer response.
And how are they different ? explain that please, bring them both up on GM’s site and look !
Then go sit in both of them !
O I forgot, you did sit in both.
I can go over my opinion for every part that is the same or the same looking or the same cheapness, but that’s only my opinion. The customer, I am the customer and that is my opinion, and I have sat in both and the competition for the CT5 WITH A DIGITAL DASH IN IT ALREADY !
But I forgot for a second, I thought GM/Cadillac cared one bit what the customer who wants this vehicle actually wants. But you continue GM/ Cadillac dealer, tell me what I want some more while you can’t figure out why I am not buying your Cheap product !
And I can tell you work for GM as the standard response is ” you just wait in a year or two we will have what you want ”
O that’s right, the fully digital dash is coming to a Cadillac WOW !!!
I wonder if any other cars have a fully digital dash ? WOW !!
You see what I mean by behind, you and GM think a Cadillac with a fully digital dash is a new thing, new tech !
Google cars with digital dashes, ill wait !!!
What did you get ?
O that’s right, I should be impressed that the highest priced GM sedan now made finally WILL HAVE coming up some day yet to be released, a digital dash !
Installed in a cheap Chevy dash !
You claimed that the dash, screen, gauge cluster are the same in the Malibu and CT5. You are essentially saying that the interiors are the same. Any reasonable person will conclude that claim is laughable. I do not work for GM. Again, that’s ridiculous. I’m just another customer with a valid criticism of your comment. If you don’t like the CT5, you don’t need to buy it. Judging by how fast the CT5-V is selling, it is doing just fine.
Art0085,
Where did you get the info on how fast the CT5 -V is selling ?
I am NOT saying the interiors are the SAME !
I am saying they are to close to being the SAME !
They are the SAME with different plastic fantastic parts in different locations !
This CT5 interior is so, so, so not a luxury vehicle interior !!
It is way more a cheap plastic fantastic Chevy interior than a luxurious Cadillac interior !
Tell me, Why do you think GM did NOT release the new Escalade or the new Lyriq with this interior ?
I will let you in a a little secret, just like the $80,000.00 Denali truck interior, this Cadillac interior and most GM interiors are viewed, by the general public, as dated, cheap, plastic fantastic junk, in relation to MOST of the competition !
And that sir is what the data shows !! Why do you think EV’s was said to be the last chance for the Cadillac brand ? because they cant keep the customers away ?
A word of advice: when citing “data”, you need to share it with the person you are trying to convince of your views. Data is manipulated every day. My subjective opinion, like yours, stands. Plastic is used in every car. There are very few quality differences between Lexus/Toyota and Volkswagen/Audi. I own a BMW and I assure you that the interior quality differences between my 5 Series and the CT5 are small and most customers will not notice. Have a nice day
Sounds like the color will be some type of blue/grey shade.
Adding this sportiness and if you add the 3.0T, you are into the V price range.
OK fine, but since the things are not exactly exploding out of dealer lots anyway (I have yet to actually see one on the road), It’s hard to imagine this making much of a difference, but hey – nothing ventured, nothing gained.
GM is going to do what GM does best !
Just throw all the cheapest junk additions on the vehicles they cant sell, then reduce the price under the closest competitive competition, and finally just drop the vehicle entirely, after wasting and losing the SAME amount of money it would have taken to just make the vehicle what it should have been and what the customer wanted in the first place !
And when all said and done, not only did GM waste the money, they pissed off the loyal customer and did not draw any new potential customers !!
Cheap, cheap, cheap, waste, waste, waste, market share lost, and lost, and gone !
Just like the CT6 !!!!
Get that Escalade dash and the better interior in this vehicle yesterday, tell the customer that is what is coming NOW ! just like you did with the cheap a$$ truck interior !
What it really needs is a redesign, or at least a redesigned C-pillar. I’ve said this before but every time I look at one, my brain tries to redesign the C-pillar so that doesn’t look like an old Chrysler 200.
I’d spend the money there instead of on diamond seat perforations.
Yes but why is it one or the other ?
In a Cadillac in 2020, you can either have a window in the C-pillar, or a nice interior !
You sure as h3ll cant have them both, in a Cadillac !!!
No you have to go buy a Korean vehicle to get both !
Instead of a survey every time you go to a GM net page on how to make the net page better. Maybe they should have a survey on what you want to see in the product you are going there to check out !
Is GM trying to make the net page better or sell vehicles ?
The CT5 is larger in every measurable way both inside and out when compared to the outgoing CTS. Yet it’s replacing the ATS..?
I ordered a 2020 Camaro ZL1 months ago However, the dealer had to push the order to a 2021 model, because of Covid19.
Could you possibly give me some kind of build date?
Sincerely, Mark Diedrich
