The online configurator for the 2020 Cadillac CT4 is officially live, allowing Cadillac fans to view the different colors, trim packages and other options offered on the new compact luxury sedan.
The 2020 Cadillac CT4 configurator is already loaded up with all of the available trim levels for the car, which include the base-level Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury and the performance-focused V-Series.
Our example car pictured here is a Sport trim level with a Satin Steel exterior, Sangria interior with Jet Black Accents and the available 19-inch Polished Alloy wheels with Dark Android pockets. We went a bit crazy with the options, tacking on the Navigation and Bose Premium Audio Package, Climate Package, Driver Assist Package, Technology Package, Driver Awareness Plus Package and Front Lighting and Assist package. These packages, along with red brake calipers, and navigation, brought the price of the car to $51,560 – up quite a bit from the Sport trim’s $38,995 starting price.
After poring over the Cadillac CT4 configurator, it seems the sedan’s reasonable $33,995 base price is a bit misleading, as there is some equipment locked away in optional packages that should be standard at this price point. For example, heated front seats are included as part of the $600 Cold Weather package, while on more expensive trims, such as the Sport and Premium Luxury, items like Lane Keep Assist and Front Park Assist are also lumped into separate packages. That said, it seems customers will still be able to get themselves into a nicely equipped CT4 for well under $40,000.
The configurator also includes both available powertrains for the 2020 Cadillac CT4, which consist of a turbocharged 2.0L LSY four-cylinder and a turbo 2.7L L3B four-cylinder. The 2.0L engine is the base engine on all trim levels and is the only available engine in the Luxury and Sport models. The 2.7L engine meanwhile is a $2,500 premium over the 2.0L turbo on Premium Luxury models and the only available engine on V-Series models.

Besides the bulky rear end, its better looking than the CT5.
I like that it keeps the vertical LED lights connected. The split in the CT5 takes a little bit away from the Cadillac design cue. Escalade, XT5, XT4 (some trims), and XT6 all suffer this. But the XT6 and Escalade are tall enough with a vertical enough face that it doesn’t look as unCaddy like.
I agree. The CT4 looks more like a Cadillac.
It’s too bad when the best that can be said about the styling of the CT4 is that it’s better looking than the CT5, but yes, I agree with you – especially about the bulky rear end.
General Motors spent hundreds of millions of dollars in developing Cadillac’s CT4; but one has to wonder how the CT4 matches up with the last generation ATS and one thing everyone needs to consider also is that the CT4 is a stopgap until Cadillac replaces the CT4 with a EV in 5-7 years.
Compared to the ATS, we know there is no coupe and no 3.6 NA V6 with 335 HP. But there is a highly upgraded infotainment system, a refined interior, and electric architecture. I think that the real key is going to be how well the 2.7 with 10-speed performs in conjunction with the Alpha II platform.
I am relieved to see that when selecting the 2.7T on the Premium Luxury, you get the electronic shifter and rotary dial for the infotainment system. Nice touch.
The interior looks pretty impressive. Yeah, it’s disappointing to see features lumped into packages, but the Germans and Japanese do the same. Not surprising.
Man that Gear Selector might be the biggest joke in a Luxury vehicle released the last 5 years. What the Hell was GM thinking.
The sedans have never moved me. The styling does not say what i believe a Cadillac should represent. The best looking, jaw dropping, I want one kind of vehicle. The design language is in desperate need of an entirely new direction. This is my opinion. Now for the full size SUV’s well they are just what i think of when i picture a big Caddy rolling down the highway. A few tweaks here and there, front end mainly, and you got it. Always hoping to see GM be fearless and unleash a real American style Cadillac.
So went to local car show and friends of mine who never seen the new CT5 all liked it. Though it looked sharp and it does in person. Its very nice to be in also. Just like the XT6, they liked it too and they are not GM people. Many people were looking at the XT6 and seem to love it.
Keep in mind that the seats are way nicer in the Sport + V, based on my testing of the CT5.
Compared to the sample Sport priced up above, you can get the V for that price, if you don’t go too
heavy on the options. The 2.7 engine with 10 speed trans is only in the Prem Lux and V.
After driving my ATS to the dealer, testing CT5, then driving my ATS home, my ATS is way more fun to
drive and faster than the new 2.0.
I agree that if you prefer the sport trim look, and want the bolstered seats and Brembos, it makes sense to consider the V in order to get the upgraded engine and transmission. I still think that the 2.7 should have been and option on both Premium Luxury and Sport, and the V should have been further differentiated with a V6.
As to the CT5, the only available test drive is the 2.0, as there are no V6s to be had anywhere. I hope that the CT4 is available with the 2.7 from the git go.
It’s more attractive than the CLA (that looks like a cheap chinese CLS knock-off) but still not attractive enough. I demand more from Cadillac. The last Cadillacs I found hot styling-wise were XLR and CTS Coupe 🙁 Still If I were an American, I would never touch CT4’s German competitors.
And for the interior of the CT4-V any color you want as long as it is black! Of course you have the choice of vinyl as well as leather!
Actually just two colors. Exterior colors Wave and Royal Spice require black interior in the Sport of the V. For all other exterior colors, the Sport and the V can also be had with the Sangria interior pictured above.
Got a look at the CT 4-5 and XT6.
Nice and better than they were. But none had that I got to have it factor.
The XT6 was very nice but not worth the price difference of a Acadia Denali vs it.
Few vehicles at the show were really of that got to have it value and not just at GM.
