Comments
Maybe the US needs to tap into some GM Canada sales execs.
GMC Sierra is still outselling Chevrolet Silverado. While certainly some is at the expense of Silverado, think of the potential sales increase for the US market if GMC’s market performance could be boosted to the same level.
GMC sells better here because it has been the better looking truck for awhile with most big dealers carrying all brands. Interesting that the Acadia is not selling that well in Canada. Needs a standard v6 or a price drop(both?).
The Acadia is “not selling that well” based on what metric? It posted a 31 percent year-over-year climb in May and it’s turn time is relatively short, from what I hear.
Also, what would a standard V6 do? Add more power, sure… at the expense of fuel economy. The majority of the customer base for crossovers do not care about power. They care much more about fuel economy instead, which is what the 4-cylinder does well in the Acadia. The few that do care about power opt for the V-6.
Hey Alex,
I think the fact that the Camaro and the Acadia sell in the same numbers is alarming in a bullish crossover market. A simple comparison of a base highlander (comes with v6 in Canada) and a base Acadia shows why this is a poor value and not selling as good as it could. There is potential here, but not how it is currently priced.
