Notably, development of the Bolt EV began on the GM Gamma 2 platform, but the project evolved into making a separate architecture now known as BEV2.
Despite the creation of the new platform, the internal project code for the Bolt EV remained G2UCE, which erroneously denotes the use of the G2 platform.
