2025 GMC Yukon Elevation: First Images

The refreshed 2025 GMC Yukon introduces a long list of updates and changes, dropping cover earlier this week with new exterior styling, an overhauled cabin, and a variety cutting-edge of technology features. What’s more, the 2025 GMC Yukon debuts two new additions to the trim level lineup, including the new Elevation trim, as well as the new AT4 Ultimate trim. Now, we have our first look at the new 2025 GMC Yukon Elevation thanks to the following photos.

For those readers who may be unaware, the 2025 GMC Yukon Elevation arrives as the new entry-level trim in the full-size SUV’s trim level hierarchy, replacing the SLE and SLT trims that previously occupied the two lowest trim level slots in the lineup. The new Elevation will available for both the standard-length GMC Yukon, as well as the extended-length GMC Yukon XL. This move follows other trim level revisions seen elsewhere in GMC’s lineup, with the GMC Sierra 1500 and GMC Sierra HD now the only two remaining GMC models still offering SLE and SLT trims.

The 2025 GMC Yukon Elevation featured here is covered in Sterling Metallic paint (paint code GXD), and shows off the refreshed Yukon’s latest styling. That includes a reworked fascia and prominent front air intake, with the Elevation-spec grille showing a series of horizontal slats with a polished silver finish. The GMC badge is seen front and center, ringed in additional silver trim.

In the corners, we see a set of technical-looking multi-spoke wheels with a silver finish and black center cap. The Yukon nameplate is displayed on the doors, while silver trim lines the windows and underlines the door line. A small GMC badge is seen on the fenders.

The rear end finishes it off with redesigned tail lights, while an Elevation badge is mounted lower in the hatch alongside another Yukon badge.

Under the hood, the 2025 GMC Yukon Elevation cradles the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine as standard, while the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine is an optional upgrade. Elsewhere in the Yukon lineup, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine is offered, although the L87 is not available for the Yukon Elevation.

All 2025 Yukon models ride on the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

  3. These oversized screens are becoming too much of a distraction and really take away from the overall appearance of the dash. Bigger isn’t always better.

  4. Looks great, except for the rear end. The fascia is too large for such a small GMC logo there. I’d put the Yukon logo in that spot, and move the smaller GMC logo to the lower right or left corner of the tailgate.

  5. I do not see why anyone would need this vehicle in a higher trim level than Elevation. It is very nice.
