Rolling out the model’s mid-cycle refresh with wide-ranging changes and updates to nearly every aspect of the SUV, the 2025 GMC Yukon also introduces several new trim levels, including the new entry-level trim, the Elevation.
The Elevation trim level of the 2025 GMC Yukon replaces both the SLE and SLT trim, which previously occupied the lowest two slots of the trim level walk, as GM Authority executive editor Alex Luft explains in this video:
The 2025 GMC Yukon is following other Big Red models in replacing the SLE and SLT trim levels with the Elevation trim. With this latest change, only the GMC Sierra 1500 and GMC Sierra HD will continue to be offered in SLE and SLT trim levels for the time being. The Elevation trim level will be available on both the regular-wheelbase Yukon and the extended-wheelbase Yukon XL.
While full details of the 2025 GMC Yukon Elevation trim are not yet available, and no images have been released as of this writing, GMC product managers indicate the Elevation will have more standard features than the outgoing SLE trim.
Just like the GMC Acadia Elevation and the GMC Terrain Elevation, the Yukon Elevation trim should boast a slightly sportier, monochrome appearance compared to the AT4, AT4 Ultimate, Denali, and Denali Ultimate variants. It will be equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels, while 22-inchers will be offered as an option.
For motivation, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine developing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque will be equipped as standard on the Elevation trim. Optionally, the Elevation can cradle the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, delivering 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.
While it is still part of the 2025 GMC Yukon engine lineup, the 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque is not offered as an option on the Elevation.
Notably, a new AT4 Ultimate trim level has also been added to the lineup as a premium version of the off-road-oriented AT4. This trim will extend the success of Big Red’s AT4 and Denali sub-brands, which currently account for over 50 percent of GMC sales across all nameplates.

Like the outgoing model year, the 2025 Yukon uses the GM T1 platform for structure. Production will be carried out at GM’s Arlington plant in Texas. All trim levels are expected to arrive in late 2024.

We need a Savana AT4 with a diesel.
1500…Passenger….
Yes that would be nice but the GMC Savana never came with 4×4 just 2wd not 8 speed automatic with the 6.6 gas maybe the 10 speed automatic standard: the standard motor could the 5.3 and the 3.0 diesel optional
This is the way gm takes away features and keeps the price the same.
Dealers then tell you if you want this feature you need to step up a trim level or get an expensive option package with things you may not want or use.
They did the same thing when they came out with the T1 trucks in ’19 and bragged we lowered the price a minimal amount but took away content.
GM never builds what the customer wants only what they think they can push on the customer, such as a customer wants to buy a $75000.00 yukon and wants the best interior but NO GM says you have to purchase the best we have to offer but I refuse to buy this optimum package do not like this self driving option , and thats just one reason GM is losing market share .
wake up GM !
With production scheduled for the first week of October, still no ordering guide. Not sure what GM is waiting for. Stop giving us bits and pieces. Let’s get down to business. Is this how auto manufacturers water board
customers.
We love our ’24 Sierra 1500 Elevation. The LZ0 diesel drive train is perfect for our needs. HOWEVER: I have been saying this exact thing. GM is milking their buyers for every extra nickel! We had to custom order our unit, because we like the look and stance and Chrome-less exterior of the Elevation. We put a total of $11k in packages just to get a few items that should’ve been included. $70k sticker! And it still doesn’t have stuff that was standard on my wife’s $25k 2017 Mazda 3 grand touring! Love our truck anyway, but it may be our last GM product. Sheesh.
So the 2024 model is the last model year of the GMC Yukon to get SLE and SLT?
YEP !!
I thought Elevation stood for price increase.
