Cadillac XT6 sales in Q3 2024 saw the luxury three-row crossover place 11th in the luxury E-utility segment when ranked by sales volume.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class took back the lead with a 13 percent uptick to 15,274 sales, trading places with the BMW X5, which placed second with a 22 percent slip to 12,425 units. The Lexus GX jumped to third with a 44 percent increase to 11,765 units; while the GX is a traditional, body-on-frame SUV like the Cadillac Escalade, it’s closer to the XT6 in terms of size. The Volvo XC90 followed in fourth with a 20 percent drop to 8,636 units, and the Infiniti QX60 rounded out the top five with an eight percent drop to 6,941 units.
Meanwhile, the XT6’s crosstown rival – the Lincoln Aviator (see running Lincoln Aviator sales) – placed eighth with a 279 percent leap in sales to 5,543 units. The Buick Enclave (see running Buick Enclave sales) fell a few spots to take tenth with a 51 percent drop to 5,161 units as the all-new 2025 model goes through a generational changeover, while the XT6 (see running Cadillac XT6 sales) moved up a spot to 11th with a six percent bump for 4,342 deliveries.
Placing third last quarter, the first-ever Lexus TX fell to the bottom with no deliveries during Q3 due to a stop-sale order and production shutdown over a recall involving a faulty driver’s side curtain airbag.

The premium/luxury three-row crossover (lux crossover E-segment) contracted five percent to 92,352 units in Q3 2024, meaning Cadillac XT6 sales outperformed the segment average.
Though Cadillac XT6 sales outpaced the segment average during the first quarter of 2024, the model still finds itself essentially in last place in the segment, trailing the best-selling Mercedes, BMW and Lexus by a substantial margin. We say that because the XT6 outsold three models during the quarter, but that’s not as big of an accomplishment as it would seem. Outselling the Lexus TX, which is on stop sale, could easily be done simply by selling a single unit, while the two models that the XT6 really did outsell – the BMW X6 and Audi Q8 – are specialty vehicles that are “coupe” variants of their core models – the X5 and Q7, respectively. To add insult to injury, the XT6 is now trailing the Lincoln Aviator and was even outsold by its corporate cousin, the Buick Enclave, in spite of the Buick going through a generational changeover.
Looking ahead, things won’t get any easier for Cadillac any time soon in this space. While Enclave sales volume should recover during the first quarter of 2025, Toyota Motor Company will resolve the issue that caused the production stoppage and associated stop-sale of the Lexus TX. When this takes place, we fully expect the TX to return to a top five placement in the segment.
The 2024 Cadillac XT6 is as the fourth model year of the first generation of the luxury marque’s largest crossover. It received a few changes and updates, the most significant being a trio of accent packages GM debuted: the new Red Accent Package, Blue Accent Package, and Bronze Accent Package.
The 2025 Cadillac XT6 arrives with a few small changes and updates over the preceding 2024 model year. That includes the GM Super Cruise hands-free semi-autonomous driver assistance feature now offered as part of the Platinum Package, available on both the Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels. Additionally, the Onyx Package is now available on the Luxury trim for 2025.

While the updated 2025 Cadillac XT6 officially debuted in China, nothing has been announced for the North American XT6. With minimal changes for the XT6, the writing seems to be on the wall for the model’s future in the North American market.
Meanwhile, GM recently debuted the first-ever, all-electric 2026 Cadillac Vistiq, adding a fresh three-row crossover to the luxury marque’s growing EV portfolio. Sources tell us that the Vistiq will eventually replace the XT6. Highlights of the Cadillac Vistiq include a 33-inch infotainment screen, standard Super Cruise, and a 0-to-60-mph time under four seconds.
