The GM Authority Take
GM Mexico sales growth in July further expanded the brand’s positive streak in the Latin American country, where it has accumulated an outstanding performance of 18 consecutive months of increases and constant improvement in its market share. As such, the automaker continues to increase its level of competitiveness and reduce the gap with Nissan as the second-best-selling car company in the Mexican market.
A number of GM Mexico models posted healthy sales increases during July and drove the company’s overall growth, with several nameplates standing out in the month. Among them, the best-selling all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo saw a significant double-digit increase, cementing it as GM’s most popular vehicle among Mexican customers. The Chevy Onix also stood out positively, with a notable increase that placed it in second place among the company’s best-selling models.
Additionally, several models in Chevrolet’s subcompact crossover lineup posted notable growth last month, including the Chevy Trax, Chevy Tracker, and Chevy Bolt EUV – which posted the highest growth rate. In contrast, the Bowtie brand’s pickup truck lineup lost the momentum seen in previous months, with its top models posting sales declines in the month: the Chevy Silverado and Chevy S10 Max, with the exception of the new Chevy Colorado and Chevy Montana introduced in recent months.
