Chevrolet Chile Sales Up Six Percent In July 2024

Chevrolet Chile sales increased six percent to 1,732 units in July 2024. The figures place Chevrolet as the third country’s best-selling automobile brand during the month, behind Toyota and Suzuki.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited since reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance (for models for which sales data is available) was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Chevrolet also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

Chevrolet Chile sales decreased 7.8 percent to 11,380 units during the first seven months of the 2024 calendar year.

The healthy increase in Chevrolet Chile sales in July represents a recovery from the significant drop suffered in June, putting the brand back on the growth path that began at the beginning of the second quarter. Even so, Chevrolet continues to lose market share and again ended last month as the third best-selling brand in the Chilean market.

The main driver of Chevrolet Chile’s strong performance in July was the all-new Chevy Sail, which registered a high four-digit increase to add almost 330 units year-over-year. The entry-level subcompact car continues to increase its popularity level among Chilean customers and achieved its best monthly record since the launch of the new generation model. Also of note is the increase in the commercial truck lineup and the slight rise of the Chevy Silverado during the past month.

In contrast, the best-selling Chevy Groove suffered a decline with a decrease in volume compared to the good performance of the same month last calendar year. However, the 475 deliveries of Chevy’s smallest and most affordable crossover are an improvement compared to previous months, and this allowed it to consolidate its position as the best-selling utility vehicle in Chile both in the month and in the cumulative total for the year to date.
