The GM Authority Take
The significant drop in Chevy Brazil sales in July has brought the brand’s sales figures back into the red, interrupting the recovery that Chevrolet had marked during June in the largest country in South America. In fact, last month’s loss occurred while the rest of the main brands have notably increased their sales, representing a considerable drop in the brand’s market share in Brazil.
Although half a dozen Chevrolet Brazil models managed to increase their deliveries in the month, the brand’s overall sales decline was mainly marked by the plummet of registrations for the best-selling Chevy Onix. The popular subcompact car suffered a significant double-digit loss that subtracted a year-over-year volume of 4,385 units, causing the model to lose its position as Brazil’s best-selling vehicle during the month. In addition, the Chevy Montana also had a notable drop that caused the total subtraction to exceed 5,000 deliveries.
In contrast, the Chevy Tracker and Chevy Spin led the list of the brand’s models that increased their sales in July. The subcompact crossover added almost 1,000 units year-over-year and remains among the most popular utility vehicles in the Brazilian market, while the updated 2025 Spin continues to increase its popularity among local customers. While the Chevy S10 registered a slight increase and is among the models with positive figures, the weak performance of the midsize pickup caused it to lose second place in its segment to the Ford Ranger.

in Horizonte Ceará near Fortaleza, some 50 km away, it was announced 6 models with 3 EV car brands from China to produce 40 000 cars a year, if they dismantled the forests of an area of 500 000 m² it means the ex troller of 3 years abandonned belongs now to state and constructions would be done to equiparate with BYD camacari, with all those offers of new manufactures inclusive Neta in Brazil seems soon Chevrolet will lost more clients.
Nobody in their right mind in South America is going to buy a GM product when BYD and other Chinese manufacturers offer superior quality and lower prices. Sadly, GM will go the way of Timex, Texas Instruments, Xerox, Kodak, etc.
