  1. Saw my first one today sitting on a dealer lot. It was very white and looked strange with no grill. I realize they don’t need a grill but at least paint the grill area black or silver.

    1. Get a WT Silverado EV then, it has a fake black grill if you need to have it.

I find it without the grill it looks better.

  3. If I were Mary Bara and faced with the reality of how poorly these are currently selling, I’d be paring back the models to no more than three, possibly only two. There is way too much complexity involved in producing seven trim levels for a product only selling 5,000 – 7,500 units per year. I know they’re following what they do with the big ICE trucks but they have the volume, and, importantly, the profitability to support it. Here, the products are losing money and have niche’-level volumes.

      1. I commute 60 miles per day around a large Midwestern city and I have seen one and it was unsold on the dealer lot, so definitely not selling many here.

        1. I have yet to see one anywhere on the road. They are always sitting on dealer lots somewhere unsold

      2. Meh,

GM was planning to build these trucks at Hamtramck along with the Hummer EV and Escalade EV. I believe that plant can build around 325,000 vehicles. In addition they were retooling Orion to build another 400,000 units beginning in summer of 2024 so together it looks like GM was anticipating building half a million annually. Being generous they maybe have sold 7,500 in the last year (they’ve actually built that many but haven’t sold that many). That’s dramatically below expectations so, yes, they are selling poorly. They’re proving to be niche’ vehicles at best when GM apparently thought, based on how many they planned to build, that they’d be completely replacing the ICE lineup of trucks by now.

        1. Last year GM was battery constrained, this year they got battery production in line, now they are just adjusting schedules.

    1. You are forgetting to factor in the tax credit you can get applied to the vehicle at the dealership that’s an additional 7500 off the top.

      1. On 80K that barely makes a difference and is still fantasyland money for a pickup truck. And don’t expect this giveaway to prop up EV sales to last forever.

        1. at the base model that’s 50K and even if you purchase the higher end WTs over the life of the vehicle the costs in maintenance and fuel you save will make up for it.

  6. Since i retired im not driving 120 miles a day at $3.50 a gal. ! I only drive to town and back about 17 miles ! Having a mid range model chevy EV is sounding more and more a possible option ! My only worry would be battery replacement after 10 years of use !

    1. Batteries today are expected to last longer than the vehicles themselves.
