When it comes to late 2000s to early 2010s GM performance vehicles, the Corvette C6 Z06 is often considered the sweet spot due to its minimal weight, LS7 engine, and relative affordability. With that in mind, we’re taking a closer look at a 2012 Corvette Z06 that’s painted in a rare hue and currently listed for sale.
Posted for sale in Atlanta, Georgia, this particular Vette is coated in the super rare Carlisle Blue paint color. According to the listing, this paint shade was only offered for the 2012 model year, with just 12 Corvette Z06s boasting this unique hue. Additionally, this 2012 Chevy Corvette features a clean Carfax report and less than 7,300 miles on the odometer.
The seller notes that this particular example is equipped with the $4,310 2LZ Preferred Equipment Group, which includes goodies like power-adjustable and heated seats, a memory package, a universal garage door transmitter, a Bluetooth package and a Bose CD / XM / MP3 stereo with navigation. Additional features include head-up display, dual-zone electronic climate control, keyless entry and start as well as the Active Handling system.
It’s worth noting that the Ebony / Gray interior colorway provides a pleasant contrast with the Carlisle Blue exterior color.
While the unique paint color and low miles are certainly noteworthy, the powertrain and driving dynamics of any Corvette C6 Z06 are what helps make this particular Vette an attractive all-around package. Output is delivered by the naturally aspirated 7.0L V8 LS7 gasoline engine, which develops 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. This power is directed to the rear wheels via the Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission.
Some additional performance bits include a dual-mode exhaust, a dry-sump oiling system, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber.
So, what do you think, dear reader? Is this 2012 Corvette Z06 worth the $72,999 asking price? Or would you rather purchase a C6 Z06 with a more mainstream color and use the savings for performance upgrades? Beautiful color/interior design. One of the best of the C6 models!
Very nice!
There is a carlisle blue zr1 for the same price.
I saw one at a Chevy dealer down in FL years ago and I thought it looked stunning. I never would have thought that color would look good on a Corvette but seeing was believing.
