Following the arrival in South America of the all-new Chevy Equinox EV and Chevy Blazer EV during the second quarter, General Motors has just introduced the two fully electric crossovers in Ecuador.
The automaker presented the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV and 2025 Chevy Blazer EV during the local 2024 Automundo fair recently held in Quito, marking the official introduction of both models in the Ecuadorian market as the main spearheads of its commitment to electric mobility and new technologies. In addition, the zero-emission crossovers mark the beginning of Chevrolet‘s business model transformation as well as its new brand image in the country.
“With the launch of the Equinox EV and the Blazer EV RS, Chevrolet reaffirms its commitment to sustainable mobility and innovation,” said Chevrolet Product Manager in Ecuador, Juan Fernando Muñoz. “These models represent the future of electric driving, offering advanced technology and exceptional performance. We are excited to introduce these vehicles to our customers and contribute to a greener future,” he added.
Notably, the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV will be the first of the two models to be introduced in the Ecuadorian market, expanding the Bow Tie brand’s zero-emissions strategy and debuting GM’s Ultium Battery architecture in the country. As such, the all-electric compact crossover will kick off Chevrolet Ecuador’s next-generation EV onslaught and was introduced in the mid-range 2LT trim level as is the case throughout the region.
The 2025 Chevy Blazer EV will follow closely behind with an official launch in Ecuador also scheduled for later this year. The midsize electric crossover will be the flagship model of the new onslaught – at least initially, configured exclusively with the sporty RS trim level and AWD as standard. The two EVs will stand out in the market for their class-leading range and technology.
The 2025 Chevy Equinox EV and 2025 Chevy Blazer EV are expected to officially launch in Ecuador in the last quarter of the year, shortly after the models go on sale in the domestic market of Brazil. As is the case for the North American market, the 2025 Equinox EV and 2025 Blazer EV for Ecuador will be manufactured at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

I’m sure there are a ton of charging stations there. Yes, there might be more than in the US, but I’m suspicious. Seems like automakers are scraping bottom trying to move EV metal.
Makes sense since they are all made in Mexico.
