General Motors continues to move forward in the interntional deployment of its fully electric vehicles and has subsequently begun its new offensive in South America, where the Chevy Blazer EV and Chevy Equinox EV are now arriving.
The automaker’s South American subsidiary has officially introduced the new Chevy Blazer EV and Equinox EV in the main countries of the region, holding special introduction events for both zero-emission crossovers in Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Ecuador. In addition, the company has just announced the 2025 Blazer EV in Uruguay, while it is expected to do so in other countries such as Argentina and Paraguay during the second half of the year.
“Blazer EV and Equinox EV join the brand’s portfolio starting in 2024, with advanced attributes that put them at the forefront of the all-electric category,” said GM South America. “In its goal of achieving a world with zero emissions, General Motors is making an aggressive commitment to electrification with the addition of these two attractive models that stand out for their design, advanced technology, safety and connectivity,” the company added.
In particular, GM South America has introduced the new Chevy Blazer EV and Equinox EV in the aforementioned countries in conjunction with the launch of Chevrolet’s new global image and marketing strategy, with the slogan ‘Together Let’s Drive’ translated as ‘Juntos na direção‘ in Portuguese and ‘Manejemos Juntos‘ in Spanish. Both models expand the brand’s portfolio and boost its zero-emission strategy in the region.
Earlier this month, the all-new 2025 Chevy Blazer EV was officially introduced in Brazil as GM’s first Ultium-based all-electric vehicle that the company is launching in the region and across Latin America. As such, Brazil is the first country that will begin marketing the Blazer EV in the RS trim level, which will also be sold in the other South American nations. Meanwhile, the Equinox EV has been introduced regionally in the 2LT trim level.
The new Chevy Blazer EV and Chevy Equinox EV are starting to arrive in major South American countries as the spearheads of the Bow Tie brand’s latest electric vehicle strategy, which hopes to lead the category in the regional market with simultaneous launches beginning in the second half of this calendar year. The Blazer EV and Equinox EV are manufactured at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico, which will supply the southern region of the continent.
