Chevy Silverado 1500 Buyers To Get The Extra Keyfobs They Ordered

Due to various supply constraints, many GM vehicles were delivered with missing features or options over the past few years, with the promise of being available at a later date as the issues resolved themselves. Now, buyers of Chevy Silverado units who ordered additional keyfobs will finally receive them.

According to Customer Satisfaction Program N232431900, GM dealers will provide owners of 2022 to 2024 model-year Chevy Silverado 1500 units with the extra keyfobs they originally ordered when they purchased the vehicle.

The fleet-focused option for two additional keyfobs (RPO code 5H1) is part of the Silverado 1500’s SEO (Special Equipment Option) list. Buyers who ordered this option would normally receive four keyfobs for the same vehicle. The two extra keys are unprogrammed, and programming them are at the customer’s expense. On the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500, the option is available on the WT, Custom and Custom Trail Boss variants, which include keyless entry (RPO code AQQ). Meanwhile, proximity keyfobs (RPO code AVJ) are included with the LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, ZR2, LTZ and High Country trim levels.

It’s unclear how many vehicles were affected by this supplier constraint, which impacted buyers of the Chevy Silverado 1500 and the GMC Sierra 1500. The program remains in effect until June 30th, 2026.

As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Silverado WT, Custom and Custom Trail Boss are all equipped as standard with the GM turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B engine, now branded as the TurboMax engine, matched to a revised build of the GM eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2.7L engine, which develops 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, also benefits from longer warranty coverage in the 2024 Silverado compared to previous model years. The 5.3L V8 L84 engine producing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque is also available on the WT and Custom Trail Boss variants, connected to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

Production of the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 is currently scheduled to start on August 19th, 2024.

  1. Yes, they sold you a truck during COVID crap time that wasn’t fulfilling the window sticker. Now please wait and understand the software I received in my truck for collision avoidance was jacked and incorrect, service light comes on and new correct software needed and I have to pay for it, due to mileage, they had unregulated people building and programming the trucks cause no one works, and we suffer and ceo gets a raise and ect. I bought the bow tie because of past quality but wow, she is letting Chevy do very bad things just to get them out the door. My A/C plug option wasn’t even installed just cover to look like it had the option. But when needed I am out of luck. They will install now but why was it allowed and what else is missing?
