The 2024 Buick Envision introduces a mid-cycle refresh for the second-generation crossover, complete with an updated exterior and interior, as well as other aesthetic upgrades. Critically, the launch of the refreshed 2024 Buick Envision was delayed for the U.S. market. As such, it now appears as though the 2024 Buick Envision will have a very short model year before the release of the 2025 Buick Envision.
For those readers who may have missed it, GM Authority previously reported that the 2024 Buick Envision was set launch in the U.S. this summer. At the same time, GM Authority has confirmed that the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2025 Buick Envision is slated to begin shortly after the launch of the U.S.-spec 2024 model year, first rolling off the line on August 5th, 2024.
Taking these two bits of data into account, it appears as though the 2024 Buick Envision will have a very short run here in the U.S.
The 2024 model introduces several updates over the preceding 2023 model year, including an expansive 30-inch infotainment screen and standard all-wheel drive across all trims. The Envision is powered by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, delivering 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine setup will continue into the 2025 model year unchanged.
The refreshed 2024 Envision also introduces a refreshed design and upgraded features. Exterior highlights include a new grille and LED lighting, taking cues from the Buick Wildcat EV concept that was introduced in 2022, while the interior boasts new color schemes and the most comprehensive suite of standard safety features ever offered in a Buick.
As GM gears up for the quick succession to the 2025 model, potential buyers should keep a keen eye on dealership availability this summer.

So, why bother with a ’24 at all?
GM doesn’t learn from its neighbor down the road. Last year, after problem after problem with the refreshed ’23 Escape launch, instead of skipping the ’23 model year, Ford went ahead and quickly built as many ’23s as it could, fast. And then was left with overflowing lots of ’23s well into the ’24 model year. Of course, wanting close to sticker for those ’23s didn’t help…
Buy a 24 and you’d quickly realize significant premature depreciation as soon as the 25 model is introduced just a few months later. Unless you score a massive discount, the 24 would be a foolish purchase. Just wait for the 25 model.
And the word ‘massive’ is the key word here! -How about $4000 off?…
I have a 2024 Envision on order now and after reading this news I will be cancelling the order and moving on. With out a doubt the value of a 2024 is going to drop like a stone once the 2025’s are released and dealers are going to be left holding a large inventory of 2024s. I had a hard time getting over the fact that I was buying a vehicle made in China but I did but now we have a whole new bag of worms. This to me is poor business practice and GM may be sorry.
RT: I would think that later this summer, Buick would have to once again have subsidized financing along with the dealer discounts to move the 2024 Envisions later this summer. So, you may want to cancel your order, but wait until these 2024 start to fill the dealer lots once again and then make your purchase.
So does this mean that the 2025 will get super cruise?
2023 Envisions are still available. This may be the cause of a short ’24 model year run!
This is Buick’s most successful model. It was by far Buick’s most premium design and should have been a styling inspiration for the brand going forward instead of “Pure” or Wildcat.
Buivk makes beautiful concepts yet the cars are usually generic. Envision is an exception, sales demonstrate this. Ruess and Alfred Dunkin will never learn
I’m just wondering if Buick dealers can cancel their orders of the 2024 Envision ? No large shipments of 2024 Envisions have left China from what I have read. If I was a dealer I would cancel my allotment of the 2024’s.

Buick sales in the U.S. like Cadillac were on the decline for the past 12 years but really high in China. I just paid $1,800 in destination charges to have my Envision transported on a boat to the U.S. Imagine that!
I understand the engine is built in the States and the transmission comes from Mexico. The rest is out of China. I wonder if the engine comes complete from USA with starter, alternator, and emission controls, etc or is it a short bare block? The Chinese people like the Buick line of vehicles along with the Envision and they have bought a lot of them. This being said the quality control and workmanship should be pretty good. Do you have any issues? Not overly impressed with the 4 vehicles that Buick will be presenting to the public with the front ends all looking the same. Have not heard any good or bad comments on the factory tires supplied.
Had the Envision been built in North America I think we would be seeing a lot more of them on the road.
I think your depiction of what is manufactured where is correct. I have had the vehicle 4 months and downgraded to the Envision from an Enclave which for 2 people (wife and I) is too big a vehicle and does not get good gas milage. The Enclave is even bigger and I think beautiful, but another waste of time.
If you haven’t read already, GM Buick sales are decreasing fast because American car companies taught them what not to do, and how to manufacture automobiles. The BUICK plant in Shanghai has been there quite some time. The Chinese company BYD transitioned to EV vehicles over 3 years ago and now have taken over the market share in China. Buick and all other U.S. car makers were caught off-guard and all are losing sales. This is why BUICK is releasing all their new vehicle designs and EV cars there first. I am not happy that GM is taking this position but China for over 15 years was Buick’s top selling country. We’ll see if the Chinese stay with Buick or go to the Chinese EV models first. Interesting times for GM.
I knew the Envision was made in China, but now I question whether any of the new “Electra EV’s” will be manufactured in the U.S. If not it will be a shame. Secondly, GM and other have missed the mark by not transitioning to “Hybrid” technology first so that people can slowly move to EV’s. Look at what TOYOTA said in recent automotive publications. The public is ready for “Hybrids” but not totally ready for EV technology. Therefore, they (Toyota) are going to release more Hybrid vehicles, PHEV, before declaring EV as their path forward. My next vehicle may be a Honda CRV Hybrid or PHEV. At least the jobs to build them are in the U.S. even though a Japanese brand>>>>>>!!!!
Soon after the American taxpayers bailed Government Motors out with billions of our dollars, GM built every vehicle it could in foriegn countries! Aren’t we into the chi- coms deeply enough?
When will the 2024 envision arrive on Dealers floor?
Buick/GM should rebrand the 2024 models as the 2025 model year. If the 2025 models are retaining the same design and technology, Buick may be able to add a minor feature such as a center console tray or plastic door lock striker covers to distinguish it as a 2025 model. Just an idea.
There are thousands of 2024 Envisions made already, some are in transit and others are at the loading dock in China awaiting authority/shipping instructions. I agree that they should be called 2025 and when the actual 2025 comes out they should be called (2025 & 1/2). If GM doesn’t bend a bit they may get stuck with a large stock of 2024 that are not wanted. Of note the 2025 coming out is suppose to have minor changes to it’s exterior body panels and interior.
Hybrid would be nice but not in the books.
My Gm Sales guy claims the 2024’s are selling as fast as he gets them. My brother in law is the service manager so I will find out if the sales guy is telling the truth. I was going to buy one but my biggest issue was that they should be branded as a 2025. I will either order a 2025 or try and low ball an unsold 2023. Their seems to be quite a few available.
Here is what I don’t understand. There isn’t even a 2024 Envision configurator available on Buick’s website. Yet I see some in transit to dealers. Why hasn’t that been released yet?
ALERT. Be very afraid buying a 2024. Why you might ask? I bought a new 2023 Avenir three months ago $49,000 fully loaded. My wife and I decided to upgrade to a Cadillac Lyric 2024. My 2023 with 1,453 miles depreciated to $33,800 because the 2024 is released. I went to the Buick dealership and they told me it will depreciate again in October when the 2025 model is released. I paid cash for the Envision and am pissed. Needless to say, I am taking my loss and will not buy another Buick.

In three weeks to four weeks time I have to decide whether to pay for the one I have ordered or walk. I wish I had a crystal ball to help me make up my mind. I don’t understand why Buick is doing this to their customers, they should realize that if you piss off a customer he/she may never return. The 2025’s start production in the first week of Aug. and the 2024’s come out roughly the first week of July. So the 2025’s will hit the street late fall as Buick will have to many 2024’s left over and will have to reduce their 2024 stock before they release the 2025’s…A GAME a stupid game at the public’s expense !

Got burnt once on a 2012 Caddy SRX with a head light issue and I said I would never go back to GM but here I am but my patience this time is really running out. Why on why can’t GM listen to the people that support them.
