Currently no longer available to order according to information obtained by GM Authority, the Riptide Metallic color was added to the exterior paint lineup of the 2024 GMC Terrain as one of two new paint colors. The 2024 model year received only a few changes and updates overall.
Not only is Riptide Metallic (color code GJV) no longer available to order on the 2024 GMC Terrain, but it has been built out since late March 2024, meaning no additional units previously ordered with the color will be produced from this point forward.
Offered as an extra-charge option, Riptide Metallic was priced at $495 and could be ordered on the SLE, SLT and AT4 trim levels of the GMC Terrain. It was not available as an option on the range-topping Denali trim level. Riptide could be combined with all available interior colorways.
While there is no official word on the subject at this time, it’s unlikely that Riptide Metallic will return to the paint lineup of the Terrain for the 2025 model year either. The 2025 GMC Terrain will launch the vehicle’s new third generation, meaning significant changes to the exterior color palette are almost certain.
While very few details of the 2025 Terrain are available and start of regular production (SORP) for the model year was pushed back to October 14th, 2024, we expect the new Terrain will get a shade of blue similar to the Reef Metallic color offered on the 2025 Chevy Equinox.
Currently, the 2024 GMC Terrain is motivated by a single powerplant choice, namely the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine rated at 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. The GM nine-speed automatic transmission is paired with this engine, sending power to the front wheels on the standard SLE and SLT trims, or to an AWD drivetrain that is optional on the SLE and SLT and standard for the AT4 and Denali.
The GM D2 platform is used for structure under the Terrain’s body panels, with production taking place at the GM San Luis Potosà plant in Mexico. The last 2024 GMC Terrain will roll off the assembly line in October of calendar 2024.

Wow. I bought a riptide 24 Camaro new for 24. Such a sexy color. Mindbogling why they would come out with this for only a few months, then scrap it.
Corporate stupidity is alive and well.
