The Redwood Metallic paint color was one of six new-for-2024 exterior shades added to the 2024 GMC Sierra HD’s color pallette at the same time the truck received its mid-cycle refresh. However, the color’s availability did not extend for even a full model year, and GM Authority is now learning it is no longer available to order on the 2024 pickup.
Redwood Metallic, tagged with color code G48, is now unavailable to order on all 2024 GMC Sierra HD body styles – including Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab – and will be built out after the week of June 3rd, 2024.
Redwood Metallic, an extra-charge option priced at $495, could be optioned on the 2024 GMC Sierra HD’s SLE, SLT, and Denali Ultimate trims but not the Pro, AT4, AT4X, or Denali trim levels. Whether it will return for the 2025 model year is unknown at this time. Color details will likely become available closer to the 2025 Sierra HD’s late-July start of regular production.
The 2025 model year will introduce a new generation following the changes already launched by the 2024 refresh. Among other updates, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD has a new front bumper, fascia, and grille, new interior design, and additional technology.
The 2024 model year Sierra HD is propelled by one of two available powerplants. Standard motivation comes from the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. Optionally, the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine can supply an uprated 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque to the pickup.
For cog swaps, the GM six-speed automatic transmission equipped with the gasoline engine in previous model years was retired for 2024. Both engines now use the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission to send power to the pavement.
As a reminder, a more-capable variant of the GM T1 platform is used by the GMC Sierra HD for structure. The truck is produced at the GM Flint plant in Michigan.

Amazing. After several months the color is gone? This always happens with any unique color. Never happens with black or white.
Yeah, sounds about right, they give you something you like and then they discontinue it. Why can’t they get rid of plain white color, except for commercial trucks instead.
