The GMC Hummer EV isn’t offered in right-hand-drive (RHD) guise directly from General Motors, but interested customers can work with a conversion company to get the electric SUV custom built with an RHD setup. In fact, earlier this month, a customer in Bangladesh took delivery of one of the very first RHD 2024 Hummer EV SUVs in existence.
On March 14th, 2024, Global Conversions handed the keys of what it claims to be the first RHD GMC Hummer EV to its new owner. Global Conversions, which is a UK-owned aftermarket conversion outfit based in the United Arab Emirates, specializes in the conversion of American left-hand-drive (LHD) vehicles to RHD, and often takes on projects for customers interested in GMC, Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicles, among others.
Global Conversions sources parts directly from the manufacturer during the conversion process, and builds other parts in-house where applicable. It prides itself in reengineering the GMC Hummer EV to facilitate RHD without sacrificing performance or safety.
“Beautiful car,” says the new owner of the RHD Hummer EV as he drives it for the first time. Inside, it’s nearly impossible to tell that the vehicle didn’t roll off the assembly line in its current state, and the customer remarks that the electric SUV looks and feels like “it’s like it came straight from the factory.”

Regardless of which side it’s controlled from, the GMC Hummer EV SUV is an 830-horsepower off-road-ready SUV. It’s good for approximately 350 miles of range on a single charge and is capable of making the sprint from zero to 60 mph in about three seconds. Motivation is provided by GM Ultium battery tech and GM Ultium Drive motor tech, while the GM BT1 platform provides the underpinnings.
