The 2025 Nissan Kicks has debuted as an all-new, overhauled version of the small crossover, featuring boosted performance, larger dimensions, and a more rugged-looking design aesthetic, with Nissan pulling the sheets on the 2025 Kicks ahead of the 2024 New York International Auto Show at an event in Brooklyn.
Nissan emphasized the 2025 Nissan Kicks crossover’s appeal to sports fans by revealing it at the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, saying the vehicle will “be as at home in a sneakerhead’s collection as in their driveway.”
The changes and updates to the 2025 Nissan Kicks reposition it as a rival to the Chevy Trailblazer, both in terms of size and with its available all-wheel drive (AWD) system. The earlier, smaller Kicks was offered only with front-wheel drive (FWD), making it more of a Chevy Trax competitor. The 2025 model effectively replaces both the outgoing Kicks and the bigger Rogue Sport that was discontinued in 2022.
The 2025 Kicks gets a fresh exterior treatment the automaker compares to “the boldly shaped and brightly colored sneakers seen on the court at Barclays Center.” The interior is also refreshed and can be ordered with two 12.3-inch dashboard displays, while various items of technology, such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus more cargo space, are standard. The crossover can also be optioned with a power panoramic sunroof.
As for the greasy bits, the 2025 Nissan Kicks is motivated by a 2.0L inline-four gasoline engine that develops 141 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 140 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. This is paired with a new Xtronic automatic transmission, sending power to a FWD or AWD drivetrain. Depending on the trim level, the crossover rides on 16-inch or 17-inch steel wheels or 17-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels.
Pricing for the Kicks will be announced at a later date. Meanwhile, the refreshed 2025 Chevy Trailblazer carries a starting MSRP ranging from $24,395 for the entry-level LS trim to $28,995 for the range-topping Activ trim, per pricing discovered by GM Authority. For reference, the 2024 Nissan Kicks starts at $22,440, including the destination charge.
High demand for the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer RS trim has led GM to change the predicted sales mix for the 2025 model year. RS trim Trailblazer crossovers are now expected to account for 30 percent of the total, up 8 percent from 2024, while the Activ trim’s share is expected to drop by 5 percent from 20 percent of the sales mix in 2024 to 15 percent for 2025.

There’s got to be a reason why these companies take pictures that are so dark and have shade everywhere. You can’t see any detail on the bottom half of the vehicle. And no, it’s not my computer.
Personally, I think they do that because these vehicles no longer have any style and they are plastered with un-painted black plastic, so they do this to hide it.
The two ipads on the dash leak of cheap. Keep your Chevrolet Trax instead
FINALLY, a media source reports that this will compete with the Trailblazer and not the Trax. It’ll be priced like a TB too, with smaller discounts.
Those interior materials make the Trax look like a Plastic Toy manufacturer made an automotive interior.
The Trax is so close to being an insane bargain.
Really? You can get that from a photo? The Kicks interior plastics are on par with the Trax, I don’t imagine they’re any better on this version. Don’t let that little bit of cloth on the IP fool ya.
@AhodieVW
From review videos actually.
And actually you can totally tell just from photos as well. High Res ones.
Just noticed the center console, yes it does look nicer…..but it won’t be as inexpensive. The IP looks cheap as heck and like an afterthought. The Trax IP integration is way better than this, way better than quite a few of its competitors actually. As I tend to drive my car and not sit in the parking lot stroking all the surfaces that’ll hold still (which is good as Nissan tracks customer sexual activity…..yep, it’s true), I’m not really swayed by interior materials. If two cars are nearly identical in equipment, performance and utility, I’m not gonna make my decision based on how squishy the armrest is. I don’t care. Not a purchase criteria.
Holy “Cadillac rear-end rip-off” Batman!
Hilarious that Nissan’s discontinued JUKE has more horsepower than their Kicks, lol.
I wonder if their new “Xtronic” automatic transmission is still a CVT. Nissan’s CVT’s made by Jatco have a poor reputation deservedly so. I’m glad GM has resisted jumping on the CVT bandwagon except for the FWD Trailblazers and the Malibu.
Instead, GM keeps putting these 1.2 liter turbo lawn tractor engines in their small SUV’s. Good luck getting past 125K miles without major engine repairs. BTW, the new 2025 Nissan Kicks has a 6 speed automatic transmission and a REAL engine
I can wait for summer release , but the body shape and still 4 cylinder is worth the wait
Esp in the top level model
A “stubby” looking vehicle….
