Introducing only a few changes and updates from the previous model year, the 2024 GMC Terrain crossover drops two exterior paint choices from its palette and gets two new paint colors, Downpour Metallic and Riptide Metallic. Here’s a closer look at the new Riptide Metallic color.
Riptide Metallic is tagged with color code GJV and touch-up paint number WA-121J. It is one of two blue paint options available among the eight paint colors offered on the 2024 GMC Terrain, which consist of the following:
- Deep Bronze Metallic
- Ebony Twilight Metallic
- Sterling Metallic
- Summit White
- Volcanic Red Tintcoat
- White Frost Tricoat
- Downpour Metallic (new for 2024)
- Riptide Metallic (new for 2024)
The Riptide Metallic color is available on the SLE, SLT and AT4 trim levels, but is not offered on the range-topping Denali trim of the 2024 GMC Terrain. It can be ordered in conjunction with both of the interior colorways for the SLE, SLT, and AT4 trims and is priced at $495.
For reference purposes, the interior colorways of the GMC Terrain for the 2024 model year and the SLE, SLT, and AT4 trims are as follows:
- Jet Black
- Medium Ash Gray / Jet Black
Pricing for the 2024 GMC Terrain starts at $30,095 for the SLE trim level, $34,095 for the SLT trim level, and $36,890 for the AT4 trim level, including a destination freight charge of $1,395. Prices are reduced from 2023 for three of the trims as GM Authority previously reported, with starting MSRP down $505 for the AT4 and $1,200 for the SLE and SLT.
One powerplant is offered for the 2024 Terrain, the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine developing 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. The GM nine-speed automatic transmission handles cog swaps with FWD standard and AWD optional for the SLE and SLT trims, but standard AWD on the AT4 and Denali trims.
The GM D2 platform provides the underpinnings for the Terrain, while production is under way at the GM San Luis Potosà plant in Mexico with a scheduled end in October of calendar 2024.
