The 2024 GMC Terrain crossover introduces only a handful of changes and updates from earlier model years, including eliminating two paint choices and adding two replacement colors: Downpour Metallic and Riptide Metallic. Here are the details of the new Downpour Metallic color.

Downpour Metallic is identified with color code GXP and touch-up paint number WA-136H and is part of the lineup of eight paint colors available for the 2024 GMC Terrain, as listed below:

  • Deep Bronze Metallic
  • Ebony Twilight Metallic
  • Sterling Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Volcanic Red Tintcoat
  • White Frost Tricoat
  • Downpour Metallic (new for 2024)
  • Riptide Metallic (new for 2024)

Priced at an additional $495, the Downpour Metallic color is available in conjunction with the SLE, SLT, and range-topping Denali trim levels. However, it cannot be combined with the AT4 trim of the 2024 GMC Terrain. Downpour can be ordered with all interior colorways of the SLE, SLT, and Denali trims.

As a reminder, there are three interior colorways for the 2024 model year GMC Terrain SLE, SLT, and Denali trims, namely:

  • Jet Black
  • Medium Ash Gray / Jet Black
  • Light Platinum / Dark Galvanized

Starting prices for the 2024 GMC Terrain are set at $30,095 for the SLE trim level, $34,095 for the SLT trim level, and $39,995 for the Denali trim level, which includes the destination freight charge of $1,395. Prices are reduced from 2023 for three Terrain trims. The MSRP of the SLE and SLT Trims are reduced by $1,200, while the Denali is unchanged from 2023.

The 2024 Terrain cradles a single engine option under the hood, specifically the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine rated at 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. The GM nine-speed automatic transmission sends power to the wheels. The SLE and SLT trims are equipped as standard with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional on these trims and standard on the AT4 and Denali.

  1. Just going to say… these “First Look” articles are REALLY stupid.
Dealers have been receiving terrains in this color since December. If you’re even going to do a “First Look” it should be written and published before the vehicle goes into production, or at least shortly thereafter.

  2. as for the 2024 Terrain, we are looking at an SLT but want the 19 ” optional wheels, has anyone worked with their Dealer to get a different Set of wheels/tires installed before purchasing? My dealer is not interested in working with us? Any thoughts? thanks

  3. In person, Downpour Metallic doesn’t look anything like the photos above. In fact, it’s a far nicer blue colour!
