Cadillac Lyriq Shoppers Still Can’t Perform Inventory Search On Brand Website

The Cadillac Lyriq made its formal introduction in April of 2021, with Caddy pulling the sheets on its very first all-electric production model. Production ramped up for the 2023 model year, kicking off in March of 2022. However, despite launching more than a year ago, the Cadillac Lyriq is still nowhere to be found on the inventory search tool at Cadillac’s website.

For those readers who may be unaware, customers can search for available vehicle inventory at Cadillac.com, which is a useful tool for those buyers looking for a specific model. The tool includes the ability to filter down by vehicle type, model, price range, trim level, exterior color, interior color, and more.

However, there appears to be one glaring omission on the inventory search tool – the Cadillac Lyriq is nowhere to be found. And it’s not like there aren’t any Lyriqs available – in fact, there are hundreds of new Cadillac Lyriq units available in dealers across the country.

We reached out to Cadillac for an explanation, and a spokesperson sent us this statement. “At Cadillac, our goal is to deliver an exceptional experience for our customers. Our team is actively working with our certified dealers to get the inventory search tool enabled on Cadillac.com for Lyriq soon.”

Notably, Cadillac Lyriq sales have been far from stellar, with just a few thousand units sold in the U.S. between July of 2022 and June of 2023.

The low sales figures are down to a variety of different issues, including production problems, quality control, recalls, and battery availability, to name just a few. A total of 8,195 units were produced last year, with a monthly production high of 2,477 units recorded for November of 2022.

The latest 2024 Cadillac Lyriq introduces a new trim level dubbed Tech, which slots in as the new base-level trim under the Luxury and Sport trims offered previously. The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech is tagged with the 1SA equipment group.

As a reminder, the Cadillac Lyriq is based on the GM BEV3 platform, incorporating GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium drive motors for motivation. Production takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee following a $2 billion renovation.

  1. Weird, more sales than Jag and Audi and yet I’ve seen a couple Audi’s and one Jag. No Lyriqs on the road. Also seen Porsches, Rivians, Polestars. Not a single Lyriq. And I live in a very green city. Tesla’s are littered everywhere. And of course when new, no tags for weeks. How do they get away with that? I asked my dealer what would happen if they sold a car without temp tags. Answer, lose our license to sell.

    1. Teslas don’t qualify here as none are luxury electrics.

      1. Define a luxury car . . . You need to work at GM and carve out new segments to produce GM segment leaders – removing Tesla from this mythical segment will put the Lyriq in first place and some middle management marketer can beat the drum. Besides badge, what makes the Audi E-tron luxurious (in this segment) vs the indentical VW ID.4 placed in a different category. The base Lyriq starts at 57,195 (before 7500 rebate) while a Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited is $60k – which one is more luxurious? – the Hyundai has more content. Segments are an outdated carryover propagated by legacy OEMs. Most cars have quite a bit of content and refinement compared to past iterations AND they cost a lot more – people are buying RAV4s for 47k now. When it comes to BEVs, a premium is placed on content, range and charging vs so-called traditional luxury. Elimination of ICE drive trains removes the massive advantages of past luxury brands as even the Bolt with its low cost suspension is much more smooth and quiet around town compared to the most refined ICE Mercedes, Cadillacs, etc. Years ago Cadillac could share platforms but offer unique ICE drive trains to differentiate from its rebadged stable mates, but in the BEV era, this is lost.

      2. I agree when you say Tesla is not luxury but they are premium. Tesla seats are comfortable, they have range, charge fast and come loaded with features.
Most legacy auto makers are really not thinking this through. I think the Lyriq ride, comfort and interior and exterior look is better. I really like it. Hope they can build them.

    2. All vehicles have to have temp tags – they are typically attached to the inside of the rear glass in Teslas, which is tinted and hard to see through – that’s where they placed them on ours. But, you’re right, I’ve seen ONE Lyriq (and one HUMMER EV) on the road in SLC with countless Teslas – Rivians are very common as well. The Lyriq looks better in the wild than in pics.

      1. No I’ve looked carefully. They have NO tag. It is illegal plain and simple. But tesla drivers are special and get a pass. They also are pretty sloppy about renewals. I’ve seen stickers with expirations 2 and 3 years ago.

    3. Where do you live?
I live in South Fla (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach)
I have saw several. The one close up at the dentist, a black one at night (I was trying to figure out what it was at first driving on I-95 from South Beach). At least five in my area. Mostly, the grey, but on Monday, I saw the first white one.
Many people only know Tesla to be on the only EV.

  2. Well, saw my first Lyriq on the street tonite. Still had paper tags. Looks pretty good. I think near me so I’ll see if the owner will let me have a better look.

  3. I found a 2022 model on the inventory page of a local dealer in Puerto Rico. My wife and I went to see it that same day. It was Silver with a white interior. Now they have 2023 models. Here is the link:

If the link fails, search for Cabrera Auto and see this inventory item:

  4. I’ve only seen one Lyriq and that was in the service department at the Cadillac dealership my dad sells cars at when I visited him for lunch back in June.

  5. Sorry for the unrelated comment. Got my L1 AWD a few eeks ago. so far, so good. Most annoying feature is HomeLink on the infotainment screen instead of a button. I did not get a cargo area cover although the car is fitted to accommodate one. Dealer doesn’t seem to know anything about it and it’s not available as an accessory. Has anyone been able to locate one?

  6. The reviews of the Lyriq seem to be pretty positive. The slow roll out of the Lyriq is not instilling any confidence in the Ultium platform. This is the basis of all the new GM EV’s. Can GM actually make an EV that works and lasts and gets better over time like their competition? Maybe GM isn’t cut out for making cars in the new age.

  7. I could be wrong but I feel like Legacy Auto needs to adopt what Tesla is doing.
Everything has the same interior packages (some Wood, Ivory, and Carbon Fiber choices and color seats) and you only chose the powertrain option the customer wants.
    Like RWD or Dual Motor
    Battery Type and range

Legacy is still trying to offer a dizzying range of options and trims. So not only can they not scale up battery production but they are also making building vehicles even harder on themselves.
Younger buyers do not like that.

    1. Some of us are not quite so “green” and demand leather. Not available in a muskmobile.

    2. That is exactly what keep me from buying a Tesla.

      1. you had to have leather?

        1. For some, vinyl is simply not something they want. Both my cars have leather. I like the smell and feel of it. Cows are already being slaughtered for meat, why not harvest the hide? Right, we are going to ban meat next.
