GMC Hummer EV Earns Spot On 2023 Wards 10 Best Interiors And UX Winners List

The GMC Hummer EV takes the storied Hummer nameplate to all-new heights of technology and capability, packing in GM’s Ultium batteries and Ultium Drive motors, as well as the right specs to conquer to the trail. It’s certainly a unique and interesting combination, and unsurprisingly, the GMC Hummer EV’s design matches all that with an equally unique cabin space. Now, the GMC Hummer EV has been recognized in the 2023 Wards 10 Best Interior and UX list.

The GMC Hummer EV was one of six all-electric vehicles to make the 2023 Wards 10 Best Interior and UX list, the other five of which included the BMW i7, Cadillac Lyriq, Ford F-150 Lightning, Genesis GV60, and the Nissan Ariya. The remaining winners include the Hyundai Palisade, Jeep Wagoneer L, Kia Sportage Hybrid, and Land Rover Range Rover.

Winners were selected from a pool of 21 nominees, with judges evaluating each nominee in a firsthand driving experience. Winners were selected for their interior design, materials quality, fit-and-finish, comfort, and technology features, while Wards highlighted vehicles which presented “outside-the-box design cues and technologies” such as interesting graphics, electrically powered doors, unique gear selectors, large high-resolution displays, and attractive ambient lighting.

Infotainment was also a major consideration for this year’s awards, with Wards editor and 10 Best Interiors and UX Judge Christie Schweinsberg stating that this year’s crop of winners displayed creative design cues that were “bold and refreshing,” as well as trim materials that are “unique and eye-catching.”

“Furthermore, the user experience has been elevated by the increasing digitization of the cockpit, with showy animation greeting drivers on displays and ambient lighting taking center stage like never before,” Schweinsberg said.

As a reminder, the GMC Hummer EV is available as both a pickup and as an SUV. Both body styles are underpinned by the GM BT1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

  1. If that’s what Wards considers one of the best interiors, then I’d hate to see what they consider bad ones! Or maybe not.

    Hummer = fat turds.

  2. This is very interesting that they picked the interior of a vehicle that has literally sold only a handful of units. It’s nice but its no award winner, and the 8 people who bought one would likely agree.

    1. More than 8 people would have bought a gas version that’s cordless.
