2024 Chevy Silverado HD LTZ Q7G 20-Inch Bright Chrome Wheels No Longer Available

GM unveiled the refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado HD last September, showing off a revised exterior, an overhauled interior, the new Silverado HD ZR2 off-roader, and a few powertrain upgrades to boot. The 2024 model-year refresh also debuted new wheel designs, but unfortunately, GM Authority has learned that one of those new wheel designs is no longer available.

According to GM Authority sources, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD’s 20-inch 8-spoke Bright Chrome wheels (RPO code Q7G) are currently unavailable. Introduced with the latest refresh, photos of the new wheel design are also unavailable at this time.

The 20-inch 8-spoke Bright Chrome wheels were originally set to be offered as a standalone option for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD LTZ trim level. However, the wheels were also included in the following packages:

  • LTZ Premium Package (PDK)
  • Z71 Off-Road and Protection Package (PDZ)
  • LTZ Premium Texas Edition (PDY)
  • Z71 Chrome Sport Edition (WBL)

Current 2024 Chevy Silverado HD orders in event 3000 or higher that are equipped with either the LTZ Premium Package, Z71 Off-Road and Protection Package, LTZ Premium Texas Edition package, or the 20-inch 8-Spoke Bright Chrome wheels as a standalone option will not receive said wheels. Rather, affected units will be equipped with the standard 2024 Chevy Silverado HD LTZ wheels, specifically, the 18-inch 6-spoke machined aluminum wheels with Silver painted accents, tagged with RPO code PYV.

It’s unclear at this point if the 20-inch 8-spoke Bright Chrome wheels will be available again for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD.

Although buyers who ordered a 2024 Chevy Silverado HD LTZ with the new 20-inch chrome wheels are out of luck, customers who wish to upgrade from 18-inch to 20-inch wheels can instead opt for one of the LPO-level wheel sets previously offered for the 2023 model year and are now once again available for the 2024 model year. These include:

  • 20-inch chrome aluminum wheels (SKW) – $3,695
  • 20-inch aluminum high gloss Black wheels with machined finish (SKX) – $2,995
  • 20-inch high gloss Black aluminum wheels (SHH) – $2,995
  • 20-inch chrome aluminum wheels (SHL) – $3,695
  • 20-inch machined Aluminum Bolt Pattern wheels with High Gloss Black Accents (SQ9) – $3,295

As for the specs, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is equipped as standard with the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, while the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine is optional. The optional diesel was uprated for the 2024 model-year refresh and now produces 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque.

Under the body, the Chevy Silverado HD rides on a more-capable variant of the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan and the GM Oshawa plant in Canada.

  1. How can they be “no longer available” when the truck has only been in production for 5 minutes??? Did they only have two or three complete sets of these wheels to begin with? How does this even happen??

  2. Noooo suppliers sent urgent message to GM that due to the chip shortage…. the wheel can’t be produced without chips in the aluminum molding process! Hahahahahaha

  4. If the Chrome Wheels that gm is speaking of are the ones displayed on this 3500, those shouldn’t be an issue to find in a set of 4 on ebay at a reasonable price, the design of those particular Wheels hasn’t for quite some time now.

  5. Some big Alcoa’s should be optional to fill up those fender wells. If you’re going to have a bling MSRP, it needs to have some real bling available to go with it.
