The all-new 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali made its world debut on October 20th in Detroit, and now, General Motors has just announced that the next all-electric pickup is headed to the Middle East – GMC‘s first international market outside of North America.
The automaker’s chief product marketing officer in the Middle East confirmed that the all-new 2024 GMC Sierra EV will be marketed in Southwest Asian countries, following in the footsteps of the GMC Hummer EV Pickup that debuted locally last year and is about to reach the official GMC dealer network in that region.
“The GMC Sierra has been a household name across the region since its introduction and we will now be bringing its EV iteration to the region, making no compromise on hauling, towing, and power, as our regional GMC fans would expect,” said Head of Product Marketing GM Africa & Middle East, Farah Amhaz. “The Sierra EV boasts everything the Sierra is known and loved for, just in an electrified package that will be able to tackle the dunes and offer its driver the premium capability GMC is known for,” she added.
As such, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV becomes the brand’s second all-electric model confirmed to be marketed in the Middle East after the Hummer EV pickup. The new 2024 Sierra EV stands out for its highly refined and sophisticated design both inside and out, as well as its unique technology and convenience solutions that raise the premium level.
Based on GM’s innovative EV architecture comprised of Ultium battery pack and Ultium Drive motor technology, the all-new 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 has an official estimated range of 400 miles (640 km) on a full charge as well as a final output of 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of peak torque in Max Power mode. The batteries have the best charging capacity in the EV truck segment with 800-volt DC public fast charging compatibility, at speeds of up to 350 kW.
GM did not announce an estimated arrival date for the all-new 2024 GMC Sierra EV in Middle East countries, but considering that deliveries of the Edition 1 in the United States are scheduled to begin in early 2024, the electric pickup could begin to be offered in the region at the end of the same calendar year. Details about the availability, equipment and price of the Sierra EV in that region will be revealed at a later date.
