GMC just pulled the sheets on its third all-electric model, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1. The all-new range-topper will be joined by additional GMC Sierra EV trim levels at a later date.
Similar to the GMC Hummer EV Pickup and SUV, the new 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is based on the GM BT1 platform, with GM Ultium battery tech and GM Ultium drive motor tech for motivation. Output is applied through the onboard e4WD system, peaking at 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque in Max Power mode, enabling the truck to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds. Max range per charge is estimated at 400 miles.
The new 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 also features Power Station Pro, providing bi-directional charging and upwards of 10.2 kW of power. The batteries can be charged back via 800 volt DC Public Fast Charging capabilities up to 350 kW, providing 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Inside, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 doesn’t skimp on tech, with the cabin space dominated by a 16.8-inch diagonal infotainment screen, the largest screen ever fitted to a production GMC Sierra model. The new EV pickup also includes trailering-capable GM Super Cruise driver assist technology, as well as Regen on Demand Braking, One-Pedal Driving, and 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk. The onboard Air Ride Adaptive Suspension can raise or lower the truck by roughly 2 inches.
Additionally, the interior appointment includes high-end materials like open-pore wood, aluminum, and etched stainless steel. Up top is a panoramic fixed glass roof.
In terms of practicality, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 incorporates the GMC MultiPro Midgate, an eTrunk, and a max towing capacity up to 9,500 pounds.
“The 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is just the beginning,” said VP of Global Buick and GMC, Duncan Aldred. “It will offer customers our very latest in technology, capability and luxury delivered in a way only GMC can do – with much more to come.”
The 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 will launch early in the 2024 calendar year, with pricing starting at $107,000. Reservations are open now at GMC’s website. In addition, GM says it will introduce the GMC Sierra EV AT4 and Elevation trim levels with the 2025 model year. Pricing for the GMC Sierra EV line will start around $50,000.
Production will take place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan, while future GMC Sierra EVs will be produced at GM’s Lake Orion plant in Michigan.

I seriously prefer this interior to the Celestiq’s.
Why?
Practical layout coupled with the airy aesthetics and wood grain finish.
It’s definitely a nice interior, but I’d like it even more with Cadillacs horizontal screen layout.
Mark, I think you are right. Just looking at that picture above makes me cringe. But if I somehow blot out that nasty screen like it in and imagine a nice integrated screen, I think it would look so much better.
Yeah, not a fan of the tablet look. On the plus side, I’m glad they still kept some physical controls.
This electric vehicle “save the planet BS” is so incredibly misguided. And GM is falling “woke-line and sinker” to the detriment of literally abandoning their business principles of offering a selection of vehicle to anyone. Now, only the elite are the GM target audience. What a mess…..
Take off the blinders.
GM is working on the next version of the Silverado and Sierra which will continue as gas. How is that abandoning their current audience?
Reality is they are expanding their audience. Offering ICE and EV models of many of their core vehicles and this will continue as long as there is demand for such models.
eLeCtRiCiTy Is So WoKe!!!$$@@
Looks better than the Silverado EV with more defined lines and less of a Avalanche look. Good job GMC!
Looks like a Chevy and if they hid the front end where it says GMC, I don’t think many would know the difference. It’s a good thing GMC is profitable because it’s the only reason to keep it. And that dash is putrid.
That is a very new and different infotainment stack, interesting.
It sticks a little bit above the dashboard, which is a design red flag. I would have preferred they put it at a slight angle so that the dash can integrate into it directly.
geez 2025…
Much better than the Silverado EV, I love this.
It Looks Great as I knew it would. I must Say that GM is knocking these EV Interiors out of the Park!!! The Lyric, The Blazer Ev , Silverado and the rest and now this, they all look amazing.
Another $100,000+ truck for the “average Joe.” Any guesses on how much range you will actually get if you try towing 9500lbs? Can you beat the F-150 Lightning’s >100 mile range while towing 6000lbs? Sorry, these trucks are all flash and no function…when they can actually replace the utility we have in ICE trucks, you will have my attention…until then, these are just luxury mall-crawlers for the guy that needs a truck to go to Walmart to buy a bag of dog food.
As a buyer you get to decide if this vehicle is for you or not. If not then that does not make it a poor vehicle. One vehicle does not fit all. Other buyers may not think so.
Why do you think a loaded up Denali should be a truck for the average Joe? That’s never been the intention.
Why should the average Joe be entitled to a luxury truck?
It’s more how awful the Chevy version looks . Of course gmc is going to cost . Nobody will dispute that. F150 ⚡️Overall is better buy at better price points as whole looking at gmc and Chevy Silverado .
Chevyvsford: I agree. The F150 EV is way better looking than either the GMC or Chevy. What I don’t get is why brands feel the need to push the EV’s into such a different look. I like that Ford made theirs look nearly the same as a regular F150. Although I’m not a Ford person, kudos to them for that.
The Lighting looks like a regular F150 becuase it is. They just stuff batteries and eletric motors under an F150 chasis. The problem is they can’t stuff more batteries under it. So GM is going to beat Ford in range until Ford delivers an EV specific truck platform.
And that works just fine. EV is coming regardless why not keep same styling that people like . Not cross between avalanche and Silverado. Who asked for that?
You have not seen the lightning price hike?
Mr. Mike: I could care less as I’m not ever spending more than 30 grand for a TRUCK. I don’t care how nice they make them, it’s still a truck and I’m not so vain that I must have the latest and greatest anything. I’m secure in my manhood and don’t need some over-sized truck to show others who or what I am. As you can see, I’m not impressed with trucks, SUV’s, CUV’s or the many over-priced import luxury vehicles that so many people over-spend on.
My comment above was simply about the looks of the Ford being better than this over-priced GMC that’s nothing more than a glorified Chevrolet. So it matters not to me if Ford tripled the price. I won’t buy one. And don’t even get me started on the stupid and ridiculously priced Hummer brand of GMC.
“I’m not ever spending more than 30 grand for a TRUCK”
I remember 1996 too…..it was a fun time.
Build back better
The point is not the average Joe bit even professionals with solid incomes can’t afford the payment on these electric heaps either
A simple solution, don’t buy the Denali. Get the Elevation or SLT trim.
….and did I mention that you might want to consider adding the option package to keep water out of the critical electrical and electronic parts? It’s only $9995.00, but it won’t be available until a year after production starts…..
I like!
Much better looking than Chevy Avalanche EV /Silverado. I’m sure price will reflect 60k base probably
if is electric, why do you need so much details of several plastics on front ? this makes the tooling only expensive but there is none function neither elegant aesthetics
$107K!!! Really? The front looks cool despite the missing Denali signature grill but the cab and bed except the tailgate look weird.
It looks like the differentiation between the Chevy and the GMC is getting closer to what GM had on their car lines. Like Impala vs Lacrosse or Traverse vs Enclave. I expect that in the next redesigns for the Yukon and Sierra we will see more interior differentiation vs the Chevys.
Sorry GM no thanks….
I welcome another GM electric truck! Now we need an electric sedan, so bring back the Impala !
Well….It’s better than the Silverado EV, but I honestly cannot figure out why they can’t just make it look like a regular Sierra. Why does it have to have that weird honda ridgeline-esque shape??? Like sure, give it a unique interior and front end, but keep the rest the same!
I’ll pass, I think the current-gen sierra is the best looking truck out there by a long shot.
Aerodynamic is your answer
As well as structural integrity with the integrated battery pack. If these things are gonna haul, they’d better be tough, or what ICE truck owner would even consider one?
400 mile range is progress if true. The 50k version with be probably under 250. Battery prices along with inflation are an obstacle to adoption. No truck owner is going to shell out 60k plus for a truck whose range if you haul or tow is less than 200 miles. That is an errand runner or toy.
Is that a rebadged cordless Avalanche with ugly wheels?
