GM Canada Expands SiriusXM Availability In Its Model Lineup

General Motors Canada has entered a new multi-year partnership with SiriusXM that will see the automaker continue to use the satellite radio company’s services in its Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brand vehicles.

In a statement, GM Canada said the new contract will see it “increase installation of the SiriusXM hardware in new vehicles,” with the eventual goal of making the SiriusXM satellite radio services available in nearly all Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles.

GM Canada customers that purchase or lease a new or certified pre-owned vehicle with SiriusXM hardware will continue to receive a three-month trial subscription to SiriusXM All Access. The company says All-Access is its most “extensive” offering, featuring live sports (including every NFL, MLB and NBA game and every NASCAR race), Howard Stern and SiriusXM’s wide variety of commercial-free music, talk programming, and comedy channels.

“Offering choice and the ability to personalize in-vehicle entertainment is key to creating an enhanced driving experience for our Canadian Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac customers,” said Mike Speranzini, customer experience director at GM Canada. “This extended partnership with SiriusXM will combine their extensive portfolio of live and on-demand programming with our growing suite of innovative connected vehicle services to deliver an unparalleled customer experience for years to come.”

This partnership will also see GM Canada continue with its integration of SiriusXM 360L across certain Chevy, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. Compared to standard SiriusXM services, 360L gives users access to even more programming and content. Additionally, 360L can provide curated audio recommendations based on the user’s listening history and favorites list.

GM was actually among the first automakers to begin factory installing SiriusXM hardware in its vehicles and has since produced more than three million SiriusXM-equipped vehicles. With this multi-year deal, the satellite radio company’s services will feature even more prominently in future GM products.

“With this continued relationship, we are delighted to offer even more GM customers the opportunity to experience our robust lineup of premium content in GM’s most popular new and pre-owned models,” concluded Paul Cunningham, senior VP of marketing at SiriusXM Canada.
