SiriusXM 360L will be available on select 2020 model year Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles, General Motors has announced.
Compared to standard SiriusXM satellite radio, SiriusXM 360L bundles the service’s existing satellite radio channels with a new selection of internet streaming radio channels. In addition giving users over 200 channels of content, the new system can also play pre-recorded shows, interviews and events and provide live, play-by play sports broadcasts for a large variety of pro and college teams.
Other improvements over standard SiriusXM radio include smart content recommendations, individual vehicle profiles that allow different users to maintain their own unique pre-sets and a more easy-to-use interface.
The technology was already available on the 2019 Cadillac XT6, but with this change, it will be offered on even more vehicles for 2020.
The addition of SiruisXM 360L to new GM vehicles for 2020 represents the largest single implementation of the service by any automaker. GM did not say which vehicles it would be offered on, though it did mention that a total of 13 vehicles would receive the option for 2020. We already know the Chevrolet Camaro and GMC Sierra HD will be receiving it, so we imagine other popular models, like the Chevrolet Silverado and Silverado HD and various Chevrolet, Buick and GMC crossover models, are also in line to get 360L.
Owners who have purchased SiriusXM 360L and a GM Remote Access Plan will be able to remotely set up their radio station favorites through their myChevrolet, myBuick, myGMC or myCadillac mobile apps. This allows them to adjust their pre-set radio stations when they away from their vehicle and have them ready-to-go once they return to it. Additionally, the SiriusXM mobile app allows them to listen to 360L stations while they are away from their vehicle.
“Whether on a road trip, dropping off the kids at school or on their daily commute, drivers can get more choice in entertainment with our embedded SiriusXM with 360L experience,” said GM’s vice president for global connected services, Santiago Chamorro. “By bringing SiriusXM with 360L to nearly 1 million drivers, we are making it easier than ever for our customers to listen to their favorite SiriusXM channels or on-demand content.”
More information on GM’s SiriusXM 360L expansion, such as which models and trim levels it will be offered on, should be released at a later date, so stay tuned and be sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more Sirius XM Radio news, Chevrolet news, Buick news, GMC news, Cadillac news and around-the-clock GM news coverage.
