2021 GMC Terrain No Longer Available With 18-Inch Silver Painted Wheels

The 18-inch silver painted aluminum wheels offered for the 2021 GMC Terrain are no longer available to order due to supplier constraints.

2021 GMC Terrain 18-inch silver painted aluminum wheels (RPO code RSX)

The 18-inch silver painted aluminum wheels for the 2021 GMC Terrain are tagged with RPO code RSX, and were previously offered as a factory-installed option. The wheels included P225/60R18 all-season blackwall tires, and were offered on the SLE trim level.

It’s currently unclear if the 18-inch silver painted aluminum wheels for the GMC Terrain will become available again for the 2021 model year.

As GM Authority covered yesterday, the Interior Protection Package offered with the GMC Terrain is also currently unavailable.

Recent supplier constraints have also hit production of the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette, as well as various optional equipment offered with 2021 Chevy Tahoe, 2021 Chevy Suburban, and 2021 GMC Yukon. Additionally, all LPO (dealer-installed) 22-inch wheel options offered with GM’s full-size SUV and truck lineup are also currently unavailable.

As a reminder, the latest 2021 GMC Terrain is the fourth model year of the second-generation vehicle. Changes and updates over the previous model year include the deletion of the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gas engine option, with the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LXY gas engine now offered as the only available engine. The LYX is rated at 170 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 203 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm, with output routed to either the front wheels or all four-wheels by way of a nine-speed automatic transmission. The latest 2021 model year also deletes the Smokey Quartz Metallic exterior color option.

The GMC Terrain was originally expected to receive a refresh for the 2021 model year. However, due to complications stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the refresh was delayed to the 2022 model year.

The GMC Terrain is produced at the GM San Luis Potosi factory in Mexico.

  1. What is available? That list is probably shorter.

  2. Please don’t replace them with black wheels, those are horribly ugly and a fad that needs to die. So tired of seeing those from the factory. You can’t find a Canyon SLE (Elevation) with out them it seems and that is sickening. Make black wheels an option, not standard.

    1. Agreed 100%. I went to my local GMC dealer the other day and the vast majority of Terrains and Acadia’s had ugly black wheels and it ruined the looks of every one of them. Next door at the Ford dealer it was the opposite thankfully with only one Explorer with charcoal wheels, a couple of Rangers and one Edge with all black and the rest had normal silver or chrome alloys.
