The Hennessey Exorcist upgrade package for the Chevy Camaro ZL1 has become extremely popular since it was introduced back in 2017, with the Texas-based shop so far churning out over 50 examples of the 1,000 horsepower tuner car. It’s easy to see why horsepower-hungry enthusiasts are flocking to this package, as it’s not easy to find an upgrade package that makes 1,000 horsepower reliably and comes with a two year/24,000 mile warranty.
Now Hennessey Performance Engineering is giving us an inside look at how it builds a Hennessey Exorcist Camaro ZL1 via its YouTube channel. The Hennessey Exorcist build that it is demonstrating in the video is a bit special, too, as the customer requested a 2.65L Magnuson supercharger instead of the 2.9L Whipple supercharger than most Exorcist Camaros come with. This supercharger is a bit smaller, but has slightly better heat management and makes similar power.
In addition to the upgraded supercharger, all Hennessey Exorcist Camaros also receive ported cylinder heads, an upgraded camshaft, long tube stainless steel headers, a high-flow air induction system and retuned engine management software. The car featured in the video also came from the factory with the 1LE track package and the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. Hennessey customers can also equip their Exorcist with optional Hennessey H10 wheels and rear drag radial tires for a premium.
As a reminder, all Camaro ZL1 1LE models come with a unique front splitter and front dive planes, a rear wing, Multimatic DSSV dampers, adjustable camber plates and rear stabilizer bars, 19-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, a carbon fiber hood weave insert and other performance-focused parts. Between these factory parts and Hennessey’s powertrain upgrades, this particular Hennessey Exorcist has the right tools to be extremely fast both on the road course and in the quarter-mile.

They just bolt on their HPE1000 then some. GM built a solid machine from the factory. If I was going to get a tune id go with Late Model Racecraft down in Texas.
Not a whole lotta interest here obviously, just another YouTube marketing vid from you know who! The ZL1-1LE is a purpose built “race track” machine (you know, the ones with “turns”) and what does Mr. “F5” do with it?
Bolts catalog part onto the engine, where’s the six wheel Hummer? I can’t stand the anticipation!
Anyone have change for a dollar?
