2021 Chevy Camaro To Reintroduce Shock And Steel Edition: Exclusive

Back in February, GM Authority was the first to bring you live photos of the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Shock and Steel package, straight from its debut at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show. As it just so happens, the package was quickly deleted for the 2021 model year, but now, GM Authority has learned that the 2021 Chevy Camaro will reintroduce the Shock and Steel package later for the 2021 model year.

For those who may not remember, the Shock and Steel package was a styling upgrade that offered a variety of aesthetic upgrades for either the Camaro Coupe, or Camaro Convertible. The package required one of two exterior paint options, including either Satin Steel Metallic (RPO code G9K), or Shock (RPO code GKO), both of which paired with a Jet Black interior.

The rest of the package included:

  • 20-inch Blade Design aluminum wheels
  • Carbon Flash-painted sideview mirrors
  • Carbon Flash-painted center stripe and surrounding stripe in Silver (when Shock is ordered) or Shock (when Sating Steel Metallic is ordered)
  • Body-color high-wing spoiler (Coupe only)
  • Black fuel filler door with visible carbon fiber insert
  • Yellow-painted brake calipers
  • Black sueded knee pads
  • Carbon fiber instrument panel molding
  • Premium carpeted floor mats

We believe that the package will offer the same content for the 2021 Chevy Camaro as it did for the 2020-model-year vehicle.

The Shock And Steele package will rejoin the lineup alongside another special edition package for the 2021 Chevy Camaro, namely the Wild Cherry Design Package, which is a new addition for the 2021 model year.

First reported by GM Authority back in May, the 2021 Chevy Camaro’s Wild Cherry Design Package bundles together a variety of styling enhancements and pairs with the Wild Cherry Tintcoat exterior paint option, which is also new for the 2021 model year. The Wild Cherry Design Package is actually split into two separate packages, the second of which adds to the content offered by the first. 1. This option along with a black splitter on the 2SS looks great. I wish you could add the Recaro seats the car. Not sure why, since the package includes the black stock seats. But maybe GM will add the Recaro seats as an option to the Shock and Steel.
