The forthcoming Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is shaping up to be an absolute ripper of a performance sedan, with a blown V8 under the hood tipped to throw down some impressive power numbers. Now, Caddy is teasing us with a short video that gives us an earful of the new hot-to-trot four-door at full chat.
The video is short, clocking in at just 22 seconds long, but it’s still hugely enticing to hear the new CT5-V Blackwing sing its full-throated V8 song. The video is simple, with the visuals relegated to a V-Series logo in the background finished in a monochromatic color. As the V8 soundtrack begins, the horizontal bars in the logo fill with color.
One by one, the V-Series logo comes to life, with each bar filling up as the CT5-V Blackwing accelerates and upshifts. Crank up the volume and give it a listen below.
It’s also worth pointing out that the the number of upshifts and the delay between them seems to provide further confirmation that the upcoming Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will indeed offer a six-speed manual transmission. The GM 10-speed automatic will also be on offer for those desiring just two pedals to play with.
The engine in question here is the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8, the same lump found in the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and third-gen Cadillac CTS-V. Under the hood of the CTS-V, the LT4 produced 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque.
Those looking to hear more of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing acceleration are encouraged to hit play on the video below, which features a number of prototype models testing back in July.
Unfortunately, the debut for the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing has been delayed as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as has the debut for the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and several other GM products. For now, the performance sedan is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2021.

Sounds like a ZL1 Camaro.
Sounds like the C7. The interior may not have been as nice as the C8, but the C7 sounds a lot better.
Sounds so good! Wow!
