The GM Authority Take
The GMC Savana’s July U.S. sales performance put it in fourth place by overall sales volume for the month in its competitive set. With a 188.57 year-over-year, growth rate, the van posted the biggest sales increase in its segment, with the only other model in the full-size van set to also post a sales increase being the Savana’s Chevy-badged twin, the Express. As such, Savana sales significantly outpaced the segment, which saw a 26.65 percent volume decrease in July.

Earlier this year, Navistar began assembling cutaway versions of the GMC Savana at its plant in Ohio. Meanwhile, the GM Wentzville factory in Missouri has continued to produce the Savana in all its versions and configurations as it did before. The move has resulted in increased availability and supply of Savana, resulting in sales volume growth. We posit the same is true for the Savana’s Chevy twin — the Chevrolet Express.

The sales figures are interesting. Surprised to see the strength of an aged product. I really like seeing how gm vans fit in the market with the competition. Could you also add another dimension of market position with how many days supply for gm and competition.
Having the 2.8L diesel makes it much more attractive IMO.
