Earlier this year, Chevrolet celebrated the introduction of its new Silverado HD trucks by setting a Guinness World Record for “World’s Largest Flag Pulled By A Moving Vehicle.” The 2017 Chevrolet Silverado HD showed off its new 6.6-liter L5P Duramax turbo-diesel V8 engine and pulled a massive American flag, sized at 40 by 80 feet.
But, Ford took it upon themselves to dethrone Chevrolet after winning Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year award, an award previously held by the Chevrolet Colorado, and decided to pull an even larger flag. The Ford Super Duty muscled a 45-by-92-foot American flag around at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida. Sorry, Chevy.
The Super Duty also out muscles the Silverado HD in the torque department, making 15 more units of twist at 925 lb-ft. However, we’d bet Chevrolet won’t sit idly by. For more on the pull, visit Ford Authority.

To appease the incoming Ford crowd: GO FORD!!!
Now that that’s out of the way, it is quite an impressive feat by Ford! Their new Super Duty is indeed worthy of the praise! But I do believe GM has a more than capable HD offering that should keep Ford on edge till the next update/refresh.
Why is it that the people up top in corporate America act with such childish disposition?
Let’s see, we can make our grill bigger than there’s (Dodge’s), ooh wait,,, Ford did that to, next up they will be chroming the hood and fenders also!
Follow the leader Ford, real original!
I do not get your gripe. The whole auto industry and for that matter capitalism as a way of life is about one upping the competition as a way to better position your product or service in the eyes of the consumer. This is no different.
If that’s what you consider “one upping to better position”, ok!
Any one got any GM, Dodge or Toyota for that matter paint codes Ford can use to….!
So original!!!
Impressive. I will remember this the next time I am towing a flag.
If I am hauling bricks and a tool box I think I will take the dents vs. the holes.
The fact is all these trucks are decent and they all have good and bad points. As for advertising they all have done some pretty lame things like the towing space shuttles, ships and trains. Then you have driving up the flaming tower that proved nothing.
I just find it humors that all the companies still find the truck buyers this gullible.
I wish GM would get back to a more classy styling like the late 80’s trucks. the black sport and SS were clean and nice looking with out trying to be a mini kenworth. Big boxy and chromed is getting so tired looking.
Chevy did it with a 2500 HD,. Ford had to use an F 450 Dually to get the job done.
Chevrolet will one up Ford at the next opportunity.
The Ford flag is upside down. Lol
first thing I noticed…
but Ford for life!
What a joke. How cool is that, towing a flag? Oh well. Great way to get the media to do your adverts. for free?
Right… ford have to use their F450 to tow it? Come on Ford? Why don’t you use your F250 and F350 huh?
ford use a 450 to beat a 350 ,, poor Ford ,,,,good on paper,,,:))
What childish play-fulling around a flag that is absolutely meaningless to what does truck MFG are trying to do—-or should be trying to do.They should be spending their efforts in building trucks that last 700’000 km’s.as their prize indicates thats what they should be capable of doing easy.
As for the truck of the year, what _._..Why is a colorado in the same test as a 1 ton truck or what is a Ridgeline doing there.
It should be H.D vs.H.D and half ton vs.half ton.
Most of their advertisements are less them mature material—wondering who comes up with them.
When are they coming up with a new line up of vans like the Sprinter and Transit.
