If you’re an Aerosmith fanatic and also happen to be one of the many admirers of the world record-setting Hennessey Performance Venom GT then your world just got a whole lot better – or bitter, depending on how deep your pockets are.
The band’s lead singer, Steven Tyler, is putting his Venom GT up for sale in an effort to raise money for the Janie’s Fund charity which was founded by Tyler and benefits girls who have suffered abuse. Rumor is that rockstar claimed to have pushed the Venom up to roughly 140 mph, but we all know that when given enough pavement this mean machine can climb all the way up to 265 mph. So, he got about halfway there.
If you have enough money to place the minimum bid of $1.1 million (the original purchase price), then you can drive home with a supercar that’s got a rich context. We’re not sure what’s more brag-worthy; “hey, this car was owned by Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler,” or, “hey, this car weighs less than 3,000 pounds and has over 1,200 horsepower courtesy of an LS7-based V8.” Moreover, Tyler’s Venom GT is the first one Hennessey built and sold.
No offense to Mr. Tyler, but with motor oil running through our veins we see his ownership as the cherry on top of one hell of an already spectacular sundae.
We understand that if you wish to place a bid, contact richard.shaw@janiesfund.org.
