The upcoming 2017 Opel Meriva is one of the few remaining pieces of the nearly dissolved partnership between Peugeot-Citroën and General Motors. Despite the agreement’s downfalls, the Meriva looks to be shaping up nicely with its new crossover proportions.
Auto Evolution has the latest spy shots of the 2017 Meriva, and it looks like the 2016 Opel Astra has had its fair share of influence. The traditional gauge setup and center stack controls look lifted from the Astra, which isn’t a bad thing from a design standpoint. Camouflage covers most of the interior design, however, so we’ll be in the dark until we approach the CUV’s reveal, likely at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
Despite its efforts to ditch the MPV looks, it’s easy to tell where the vehicle’s lineage comes from. But, the 2017 Meriva will likely appeal to the masses with more rugged looks.
