A new round of Instagram posts from one of our favorite accounts, GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign), gives a brief history of the Cadillac Vistiq’s design. We see it go from concept sketches to clay models on its journey to become a production vehicle slated for production in early 2025 for the 2026 model year. Let’s take a closer look at the design of the Cadillac Vistiq, GM’s first three-row EV in the U.S.
“Introducing the all-new Cadillac VISTIQ, where unmistakable boldness meets elegant design,” the first Instagram post says. “Check out our development sketches, from early gestural explorations to polished renders. Throughout the design process, strong proportions and a sleek, swept back silhouette remained key.”
Naturally, the Cadillac Vistiq’s earliest design sketches were more daring and dramatic than the production model. However, the general aesthetic of the Vistiq remains recognizable from concept to production.
“Visually, our goal was to render premium proportions coupled with progressive technical details, intending to set the VISTIQ apart,” the next post said, showing Vistiq concept art in a few different colors.
“Early sketches of Cadillac VISTIQ explored the idea of vertical banding elements to provide a sense of structure and commanding presence,” the third post said, moving on to the interior. “The designers’ intention was to express the interior to feel stately and architectural.” Early design sketches of the Cadillac Vistiq interior show the genesis of the two-spoke steering wheel and 33-inch display that made it to the production model.
One concept image shows a more commanding presence of the tablet-like control panel integrated into the center console with a variant of the Cadillac Goddess on the screen. This had to be redesigned a bit to make room for cupholders, and the Cadillac Goddess is still reserved for the flagship Celestiq.
“The Cadillac VISTIQ interior sketches express refined order highlighted by precision of detail,” said another post highlighting the design continuity of the interior. “The elegant linear forms of the doors and console echo the design proportions of the exterior.”
Finally, we see designers poring over clay models and production-ready designs, getting the finishing touches just right, inside and out.
As a reminder, the Cadillac Vistiq features a dual-motor powertrain that produces 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Pricing starts at $78,790, and production is expected to kick off at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee early in 2025.

Should have stopped at this point and held off. Not sure who the coke heads think this will sell to, but I sure don’t know of a single soul.

It’s rubbish.
The Vistiq is not a Cadillac. How about showing the production of real Cadillacs like the CT6, the CT5-V, the CTS-V or from the past century, the Eldorado, the Seville, the STS, the Fleetwood Brougham, the De Ville or the V-16?
