After showing us its updated interior and exterior, General Motors today put the new Chevrolet Aveo on sale in China following its appearance at Auto Chongqing 2014. The car features an all-new exterior look, a more refined cabin and new technologies such as Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system.
Mechanically, the new Aveo is identical to the outgoing model, powered by either a 1.4-liter or 1.6-liter four cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, the only transmission option.
The most obvious updates come in the way of the front fascia, which now carries the same Chevrolet DNA as the all-new Chinese-market D2XX based Cruze. The rear of the car has also been slightly overhauled with new taillights and the sedan variants featuring an integrated, sculpted trunk spoiler.
Inside, the Aveo has received a newer version of the motorcycle-style gauge cluster found in the U.S.-market Sonic. There are also now more high-quality materials, a 7-inch high resolution touch screen and 21 convenient cubby holes throughout the interior for storing items.
The new Chevrolet Aveo will be offered in seven sedan and six hatchback variants, with prices starting at RMB 73,900 (US $11,823) and climbing to RMB 109,900 (US $17,582).

The front end looks like the new Chevy SS. It is much better than the old Aveo!
